Honestly, the fact that there are only 8 characters slots maybe the thing that ultimately makes me leave the game eventually.
I love playing different characters with all different class combinations. Personally, I think the idea behind VR content was misguided. There should VR content, not just re-playing the same content over and over. I see no reason at this point to ever play VR content aside from looking for VR mats and motifs so you can gear up your lower alts.0 -

tylarthb16_ESO✭✭✭NoI had planned to to try out other classes and builds as well as experience the alternate story lines. However having gone through the veteran versions of the alliances, its kills the replay value significantly. Additionally the lack of parity in armour and weapon lines makes fighting pretty much similar (LA/staff bias).
So i have alts acting as mules for now perhaps if an avenue of lvling opens for them i will progress then from 1st city.0 -

Pretty sure Caldwell explains it as...Meridia giving you a gift, which allows you to experience an alternate 'what if' path. Nothing you do in those two factions is real for your character. Oolou✭✭✭Yes. I have 3 alts to my main and also 3 bank mules.
The bank mules are necessary as I'm trying out the various crafting options split up among the alts and so need a lot of storeage!
The 3 alts are to try out the different classes. I'm running them all through the same alliance as I'm finding it interesting to see how different approaches to the same quests works.

YesI run a main character (level 37) grouped with guild mates so we only play our mains when we're all on. This enables us to level/quest together because ESO's phasing is a pain if one of the group has already completed a quest. This way we progress via the storylines, albeit slowly, but having a lot of fun together.
When the full group isn't online we each play alts, soloing the game. Currently I have a level 27 Templar and level 11 Sorc alt.
Only problem with using my alts - is they're also my mules and I have to empty their bags before I can take them out to play

✭YesI have 1 main (VR) and 3 primary alts (42, 39, 31). I have 2 level 4s with class builds I've been wanting to try, and a level 7 alt that I'm leveling with a friend when we aren't on our mains.
This is the worst game for alts for me, simply because I enjoy them all and can't focus 1 at a time.0 -

And of those 8 characters 3 of them are re-rolls of characters I killed off at about lvl 15-16. One slot has been re-rolled twice (just a few days ago) and is currently lvl 22. I had to see what all the ranting, raving, moaning and groaning over Resto/Destru builds was about.0

I always quit playing when I reach the stage of the tedious Groundhog Day grinding for points, ranks, shinies or whatever. There hasn't been an mmorpg that I've played yet which would interest me in doing so.0
