Well today is your lucky day. You will soon have the "joy" of being forced through two more faction's entire 1-50 content of the same storyline told from a different pov whether you want to or not on your main just to complete the main storyline. Yes, it gets boring it's the same story told different and it makes leveling a different class to completion to experience a different flavor of the game a total pita.I am almost level 47 (first play through) and im so happy I read the stories and everything. It's been more fun playing this any any other mmo I've played by far.
To be honest, I'm almost upset about hitting 50 soon because I just want to play through again. I think I may just do that sooner rather than later. Glad to see someone who raced to 50 is taking the time now to enjoy it.
I have some level 50 friends who whine and complain that they are bored but all they do is race race race to max level so they can pvp and they learn nothing along the way and they don't even enjoy it. Sad. Yes, I'm mostly talking about you, DJ.

Ya all the so called hard core /redbull drinkers have go on to the next "rush to end game" type game to try and be number one while the smart players are taking the time and actually are doing most of the content, you dont even hear them cry much anymore about nothing else to do , so them must be all rushing to the top in another game, sad really.

Im a redbull drinking game rusher, only i Rush completion aswell, I rapidly finish every quest in a zone.
Got bored in (Vet)Greenshade, quitting now, cant even muster up the effort to do one more quest.
The AD ones are my favorites so far, but they're all good.

- I started listening to quest givers and learning the story of what is going on.
- I started to read lore books.

Absolutely. Good for you (I mean that in a positive way). That is the only way to play ESO. ESO is just as I had imagined an ES-MMO would be well over a decade ago, after playing Morrowind. >> Buggy and clunky... but massive with alot of possibilities and deep, fantastic lore.
If anyone is going to play ESO and disregard the lore to rush to endgame, then they are playing the wrong game IMO. There are much better MMO's to play in that regard. Where the combat is fluid, there aren't many bugs, the graphics are great, and leveling to end game is fast... but lack lore anywhere near as fantastic as ESO lore. Lore!!! It IS the game! My motto thus far: Love lore or gtfo because we don't want to hear the complaints!

Do enough people like this kind of mmo to warrant the maintenance costs?
We will see...

The Elder Scrolls franchise has been going long enough to say that there's a built-in subscriber base. Once enough of the fans who were on the fence because of the MMO aspects of the game start to hear that the core of the game is the world/lore/characters, more of them will be coming over.

No you cant say that, there is no evidence for it.
Also, do you realise that people have been subscribing the top MMO's for years, and i am talking 5 to 10 Years. Do you really think this game contains even nearly that much quest content? Even for levellers in slow mo with gimped builds its not so.
Just because a franchise exists does not mean a mmorpg will be successfull. It could be or not, i could be after f2p or never....

It's not at all the same story, especially since the main quest no longer plays out in VR zones. You get the new faction quests, new side quests, lots of fun new culture stuff from the races you never interacted with in your faction, etc.
It's fine if you don't like story and character in your RPG, but this game is part of a series that's fairly renowned for having fun and engaging characters. And many of us are specifically here because it's an MMO that doesn't reward people for grinding their way up to VR12 as fast as humanly possible.
Do you really think this game contains even nearly that much quest content?

The most successful MMOs in the industry have gone through countless updates and expansions at this point. So yes, if you look at their vanilla release, I believe that this game has more than enough quest material to compete.

SWTOR story was really awful though. None of the dialogue rang true to me.
Story depended on class. I loved the Agent story line
GrimlockSaves wrote: »After reaching V12 in a kind of vanity crazed rush, I decided to play the game differently... Two things:As if it were some kind of untold secret, and to my surprise, the stories behind quests are incredibly good and entertaining! The lore books are well written and full of entertaining drama and humor. I was reminded of the fact that this is an RPG, not just an MMO.
- I started listening to quest givers and learning the story of what is going on.
- I started to read lore books.
I then went on to think, maybe there are a lot of bugs and issues, but maybe ZOS had a strong focus on delivering a beautiful MMO world with a rich RPG lore.
Perhaps ZOS has paid attention and realized in all MMOs, class balance and bugs are a constant, but good stories are few and far between. Have you noticed how fixing quests and story progression has taken a priority in many instances?
Maybe they DIDN'T expect fans to superficially disregard quests and story lines (except for when they are broken) to such a monumental degree.
For all the haters and power levelers who are rocking this like an MMO FPS, I highly recommend trying to play it like an MMORPG. Yes, there is no immediate "look at me and my shiny gear" rewards, but there are good stories.
Like ANY relationship in the entire world, if you focus on the negative seek to find faults, you will find them and they will make you a negative and unhappy person. If you focus on the positive and seek good things, you will find them and they will endow you with the patience to weather any puny storm of negativity.

Apparently you don't realize that most of the end game people did do ALL of the content and while it was bugged. They are also doing it right now in Crag and Cyro. You are being demeaning to the majority of the player base thinking you are the "smart" player going slow assuming others rushed and skipped content when in fact they simply did ALL the content faster than you. By the time you get to Crag there may not be enough around to do the content reliably and you could miss out on that part of the story thinking others have rushed to it depending on how slow you are taking it. Being slow does not equal intelligence or being smart.
