Auction house for one reason - Playing Alts

I know this is beaten to death, but I have money spilling out of my jeans off my main and would like to just simply play a new character and buy equipment every level or so. I'm in 3 guilds and all gear is 40+

It's what will help keep the game healthy at the lower levels IMHO

    For me; a plain, simple no. It was one of the factors that almost killed Diablo franchise.

    Let me tell you what's going to come with an implemented AH;
    • More places for bots to put their loots - More bots & more profits for botting
    • People start to play the AH game, not the game itself - Losing interest

    Just my two cents though.

    Good points, but when you look at other MMO's, the survivability also goes along with being able to "not work so hard" doing it again. Sure you can make stuff with your main, but chances are the reason you are playing an alt is to be completely different from your main, meaning no skills in the gear of your new characters choice

    I can only go by my play style of course

    At the very least I'd like to be able search by item name substring in the guild store. ;)

    Personally I think that 'playing the AH game" is not such a bad thing. If anything, the inclusion of an AH would heighten my interest in the game, not lose it. I like three things in the games I play, the crafting, alts and making gold. Although the crafting box is ticked for me with ESO, the diabolical guild store system (which I do not bother with), coupled with ESO's obsession with a 'Main' and vet levels mean the game went old for me really quickly. It is unfortunate, the lore is superb and some of the scenery breathtaking.
    ZoS Ambassadors please do not bother responding to me because I have you on ignore. Your input is neither valued or welcomed.

    People do this already on a daily basis within zone chat. Granted it takes a bit more effort, but still easily doable.

    ESO is not Diablo 3 and global auctions houses work great in dozens of MMOs.

    Currently the economy is dead. Even with 4 big trading guilds I rarely find what I am looking for (the abysmal search and tag system does not help) and rarely can sell anything. Main reasons: prices can't be determined because every guild store is a tiny bubble and there is no auction mechanism.

    Of course it takes a little effort to search a mega server type volume of items and facilitate transactions between thousands of players. Guess what, there are specialists for this who even sell their service. Maybe I am biased because of my degree in internet economics. I have seen it done many times and everything I have heard so far are sad excuses. ESO needs an auction house and Zenimax better delivers if they want this game to persist.
