Proposal: 3 character animation improvements

There are 3 little improvements that I'd love to see implemented in the game in a future patch:
  1. My character head should turn when I use my camera.

  2. The animation triggering when I stop running or walking is a little bit overdone. It should be slightly subdued.

  3. Idle animations depending on the situation: existing emote could be used after a few seconds of inactivity depending on the situation: covering if it rains, watching the skyline if I'm near a point of view, listening to people if there are speaking npcs around..etc..

I think that these little improvements could make our characters more realistic and lively!

    4. When turning your camera in first person, your character should turn too. (for now it stays on the same position as it stopped.)

Interesting idea. But - since you can't see your character in 1st person view - isn't it more a "camera problem" than an animation issue?

That said, I never use the first person view so I couldn't say.

I'm a RP person, and when I use first person view and turn to other characters I wish my character really turned to them, but instead I need to go to third person and move. Thats why I said it :)

    Oh, I understand now!
I'm sure they can implement an option in the settings for that. Good idea.

@grizzbi‌ Nice idea's that I'd like to see in the game.

I would like to add a more smooth male walking animation. It is far too stiff atm reminding me of how I walk on days my back is killing me.

1&2 would use more processing power, which would slow the servers.
3 would chew up the servers processing like me eating Sticky Toffee Pudding, ie the servers would really slow down.
    4. When turning your camera in first person, your character should turn too. (for now it stays on the same position as it stopped.)
The camera and character orientations are disconnected so it doesn't swing around like mad when you're in a fight. If they reconnect it, then it might cause the camera veiw to alter as you move. Not saying it would, just that it mmight.
People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!
    Wizard's first rule
    Passion rules reason
    Wizard's third rule
Mind what people Do, not what they say, for actions betray a lie.
    Wizard's fifth rule
Willfully turning aside from the truth is treason to one's self
    Wizard's tenth rule

I've thought about that. But neither you nor me can have a definitive answer. We are in 2014 and there could be opportunities, now or later...Also server are not a single computer..They can handle priorities and use a dedicated part to operate specific actions. It's probably already the case.

There should be an on going work on animations. People like to see things improved. And it's refreshing ;)

I definitely agree on the walk/run animations: it could be better.
