Armor Dying Looks Promising

My main objection with the dye system are some of those almost neon hues I see under the ''Blue'' and ''Purple'' category of the screenshot...
And while I do very much enjoy the combination of black, red and gold, I do not like the way those shades appear in this screenshot... VR outfits have silky or metallic textures, but their colours, although much more vibrant than low level armor and most npc clothing, don't make them look un-natural in the game. Now this character's outfit looks like it is enveloped in some red metallic foil, which will look extremely kitsch with those bright new shades.

EQ was pink, other neon colors and black... dyes are going to make ESO so stupid looking over night...

Armor dyes is a necessity. War paint on horses is what I would like to see, make it tied to armour dyes I don't care (:
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

    Help make this compilation complete!

when are you people going to realise.
    there IS NO END GAME

    there is just grinde

grind elite status. grind super levels. grind dungeons. grind grind GRIND.
get to x level, oh wait, the games owners just added another expansion, go grinde another x amount of levels to be posh again.

being VR whatever in this game means one thing. you grinded your brains out in whatever way you could.
you cannot possably say, that the veteran grind in ESO is the *biggest asspect*
its the other two factions you did not choose at the start, made excrusiating by the fact that it seems that one veteran level is the same as 10 non vet levels.
the only real 'endgame' part of the game is the new stuff they added with craglorn ect. becasue its new, and not tied to the other 2 factions you didnt choose.

and again, there never realy is any such thing as endgame. because an mmo has no end. not untill it actualy has an end.
EQ1 has 21 flippin expansions. it still has not had an end.

now if people stopped calling it 'endgame' and called it something that makes sence, like 'post-leveling' content, it would make sence. except yet again, its never about not leveling. becasue they allways chuck moar levels on it and then call it better.

look. the main problem is that there will allways be players that rush to the last level of a game. (especialy if any form of pvp or dungeon crawling is involved)
no one says you cant have your shiney show offs. but when you stop normal players from having *anything* at all, you are stopping us from getting our moneys worth.
if they spend all their time, making content for 5% or 10% of the playerbase, that is bad.
we are here to say that sure, give achevement dyes to those who can cut it, but MAKE SURE THOSE ARE EXTRAS TO THE DYE SYSTEM
make *those* dyes special. dont take the lazy route, and just make all dyes require achevements.
that would be, yet again, another kick in the teeth to the average player who does NOT rush, does NOT exploit and does NOT devour content like a starving dog, and then come to the forums screaming and waving their arms about yelling 'FEED ME MOAR CONTENT!'

we lost our colour. we now look like beggers and homeless hobo's becasue the veteran gear was broken.
we did not HAVE to look like that. they changed the colour codes. you cannot take a robe that befor the patch for VR gear, was brown, and it accidentaly changes colour to vomit green. becasue the code for vomit green and the code for brown are different
they did these things to a) make your veteran gear look even better. shame on you, devs.
and b) make the dye system be moar popular.

fine, if you want us to dye, we like to dye. but dont then tie all the dyes behind the achevement wall. just becasue the ps4 and xbone crowd will (eventualy) get here, does not mean we are all achevement addicts.
many of us who are here, are here becasue we are an elder scrolls fan. not becasue we are mmo players.
did daggerfall have an 'achevement' set? i dont remember morrowind telling me i had just got an achevement for anything when i first played it.

I think at least a basic palette of color should be available (and this isn't basic BROWN palette lol) and some normal achievements that you get just in the course of leveling/questing should give a nice variety of color. This way those of us that meander through the game get nice colors also.

For really special colors it could be the harder to get achievements or the high-level ones.

I would think that since they seem to be making them achievement based that the dyes are reusable which I would want. Rift you have to buy them and it is annoying.

I think if they're not complete idiots(I'm not so sure about that anymore tho:P) they won't make ALL colours achievemet based. It'd make sense to give a very basic palette accessible for everyone, normal basic palette tied to achievements you get inevitably from completing main line, and some more...interesting colours tied to other achievements. If that's how it'll be done, I like the idea(didn't a mod post saying dye would be available to EVERYONE? That certainly must mean it's not ALL tied to achs).

And yes, I'm a completionist having done every quest I can, and I think it'd be nice if those of us who do EVERYTHING and get a ton of exploration and co achievements get a reward for this:) Purely aesthetic? Good, why not? Aesthetics are very important for some ppl, considering you spend ours and days staring at your char.

Can't wait for dye system, out of curiosity upgraded my robe to gold(only gold piece now lol) and it looks HORRIBLE. It's Breton vet 5 and my god...who was the colorblind person who came up with that colour combination?! Shiny dark blue on dark RED...ugh...makes me want to throw up, I literally wear either disguised or Bound Armor 100% of time now>.<

The screenshot posted with the June information update makes armor dying look promising - as well as close to implementation. The range of colors looks broad enough to create some unique armors.

I hope it will be available for all levels of armor - not just higher levels - and all types. Also, I hope its available at all crafting areas.

Thanks for this! It looks good.
Dyes will be available for all levels and types of armor. B)

I hope there will be a chance to preview it before you pay all that gold, and is there a bleach for it?

This can't happen soon enough! I am glad to see it is on its way. I have been beside myself with my Vet lvl Bosmer hvy armor...good lord...its freakin purple and light gray right now (V9), who does that? This isn't a space / Sci-Fi where those colors would look fine.

I feel like I am running around in a purple crushed velvet and porcelain tuxedo o_0
