If I hit VR in Coldharbor, will I still get xp?

I just hit VR1 last night, but I have about 2/3 of the zone left. Will I get xp(vet points), or am I just screwed until the next zone?

You will get vet points and EXP for quests and EXP for mobs (this EXP will exping your skills not actual level)

    No.
I hit VR about halfway through Cold Harbor... If I got any XP it wasn't enough to be visible on the bar.

No, you do not get veteran points until Coldharbor is finished. I recommend to everyone to go directly to Coldharbor at 43. I did and I finished the Zone at 49.5 doing everything, then went back and cleared up the last zone for veteran xp before starting on veteran zones.

They should probably change that since it is quite easy to hit 50 in the zone which makes all the quests in Coldharbor not worth doing for xp, yet they are worth doing to make the end of Coldharbor easier, or are required to get to the end.

Yes, you'll get VP for completing quests and also for the higher-level mobs (remember there's a 5-level swing for gains off mobs, so you won't gain off the "43s") as VR1. For example, I did the 4-person dungeon in Coldharbour as a VR5 and got both loot and XP from the mobs, as well as XP for completion, etc.

    Only from quests.

Veteran points are quests only. Normal XP is still gained, but they'll only contribute to your skill trees and abilities.

Do what I did. I still have not finished molag bal or coldharbor even. I went to criglorn instead and have gotten up to vr4 now lol. Eso is play the way you want. Well I did not want to do the main quest line and explore a bit... lol which turned into solo some craig mob groups at vr 1, and grind out anomalies before there nerf. Next is finish up cold harbor and finally go to cyrodill. Then do some regular vr areas... its not an open sand box world, but there are options now with criaglorn and cyrodill.
