Who else loves the music in ESO?

So far, I have loved the music in this game! Most of it is very atmospheric and there are bards playing in taverns, even quests that involve music (like playing back a tune).

I actually went out and got the soundtrack and have listened to it relentlessly!

What are your thoughts about the music?

Edit: Does anyone know if they will add the ability to play instruments?

I think it suits everything really well. It does this great job of lingering in the background and just putting the mood into the game. It's not super memorable but if it wasn't there the whole feel of the game would go down. Blends perfectly I think.

It's not quite Skyrim for me, but very well done!

I think the music, all of it, is one of the highpoints of the game. It is epic to me, reminding me of some of the music from Prometheus. The music is subtle when and where it needs to be and dramatic in the same fashion. A very nice job!

I don't like it. I came from Age of Wushu where in over a year, I never turned it off, plus looked forward to hearing it. It fit so well.

ESO on the other hand, the music doesn't seem to fit, especially in Cyrodiil. It sounds as if I should be having a lazy after noon in Cheydinhal instead of fighting a bloody war.

edit- So i turned it back up after reading this thread. I guess it's not that bad. It's ok.

I love the extra atmosphere it gives. All of the background music is pleasant to listen to & I often find myself humming away to the battle music while engaged in a fight!
Only bit I'm not too keen on are the tavern songs as I find many of them too dreary to the point of being painful to listen to! While it may suit some areas, I would have liked to have seen the taverns of Skyrim have more raucous & bawdy songs! I mean come on! In a tavern filled with a bunch of drunk Nords, things are going to be loud & raunchy! ;):D

This is so true, the music isn't intrusive, it adds to the mood and atmosphere without getting in the way.

I need to get Skyrim, I'm probably one of the few people around that never played it. In my defense I played Morrowind and Oblivion ridiculous amounts. My friends would laugh at the irony of the games name....

Me too! My wife asked me where that Red Diamond song came from because she kept hearing me sing it. :)

The main theme is great, as it was composed by Jeremy Soule, who also composed Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, GW1 and 2 music, among countless other video games. He is no doubt my favorite game composer and in my opinion the best out there.

I generally like the rest of the music, but it does not carry the weight or emotion that previous Elder Scrolls compositions had IMO.

While I enjoy the music I usually play with it turned off and ambience turned up a bit. I'd rather liste to a brook babble anyday.

The music is 1 of the 2 things this game really has going well.. the other is the lore..

Music is fantastic, just like all TES games, but the one thing that really bugs me is it does not fade in/out like in TES games. Typically when you talk to NPC or when dialogue is involved it would fade out and when done fade back in.

I turned it off. The damn combat music is the worst part of ESO's sound track and it never goes away. To make it worse, it doesnt even fit the combat. It sounds more like a song that should play when youre sneaking or something.
