please explain Siphoning Strikes nerf

    It made melee dps useful, its pretty obvious that all developers are casters.

      • Path of Darkness: Increased the damage for this ability, and it can now be seen by all other player characters. Also fixed an issue where it was ticking more times than intended on a target. Buff
      • Refreshing Path: This ability will now heal your allies, and the healing done has been slightly increased. Buff
      • Refreshing Shadows: This passive ability is now always active, and no longer requires you to use another ability. Buff
    • Siphoning
      • Leeching Strikes (Siphoning Strikes morph): The tooltip for this ability now shows the correct percentage of health recovery.
      • Magicka Flood: This ability now correctly increases your maximum magicka.
      • Siphoning Strikes: This ability now restores slightly less resources, and will no longer desync your resource bars upon use. Nerf
      • Soul Siphon (Soul Shred morph): Edited the tooltip for this ability so it’s more consistent with all other tooltips, and fixed an issue so the upgrade tooltip now states that it does less damage than the base ability.
      • Strife: Fixed an issue where the red glow from this ability would last longer than intended.

    Conclusion: buffed most of the un-slot-able *** tier skills, nerfed one of the 3 skills every nightblade uses.

    By the way, leeching strikes was a nerf. Instead of fixing the ability to restore what it's supposed to, they change the tooltip to reflect the broken value. So it in fact got double nerfed.

    Slot this ability, and receive infinite resources? for no cost? what...

    By the way, a nerf is a reduction in power, not a static tooltip change.

    They just need to let us know how much "slightly less" means. Does this mean 3% instead of 4%? Or 2% instead of 4%

    That would make it OP. Speaking with a nightblade as my main. I would be happy if the resource recovery was 3% and the corresponding damage reduction was 20% or something instead of 25%.

    Actually Siphoning Attacks and the morphs are much more a staple of magicka based destro/resto builds.

    By the way, changing a tool tip to reflect a broken value instead of fixing the higher correct value is for all intents and purposes, a nerf. They said they were fixing it because it didn't restore as much health as it was supposed to and they turned around and just changed the tool tip to reflect the lower bugged value. You're splitting hairs if you think that's just a static tool tip change and not a nerf. Keep up the great work trying to trivialize the point of this thread though, you get a gold star for effort.

    You are talking PTS nerfs, they dont always make it to the live game its just for testing stuff.

    By the way, what is your definition of broken? If I spec for health its pretty easy to hit 2900 hp in cyrodiil. 2900 x 0.04 = 116 hp, That isnt even considering the +healing from siphoning abilities passive or swallow soul. Recovering 116 hp per attack while also restoring mana/stamina, seems pretty broken to me. Considering most HOT, heal you about 60-80ish every 2 seconds, and they cost mana. Do you really believe that its that hard to change this ability to be 4 % instead of 2%?

    The nerf from what people on the PTs say its like 3% rather then 4%. You still get the 10% chance the for large increase. A percentage lower is not going to break the skill.

    So if I have 1000 Magika/Stamina, i used to get, 40 mana/stam a hit, now im getting 30! Oh noes thats game breaking ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It wont break any of my builds because its the 10% chance to get 15% regen is what I'm looking for and those still will hit enough to make up the difference.

    Siphoning (with light attack weaves) + Catalyst passive + Medicinal Use passive + Argonian = Infinite resources

    That is why.
