I like VR content ... but!

I like doing the quests. I am getting fairly fed up though of being hammered by impossible bosses and hammered by multiple mobs in a situation where I could just about handle one of them.

I just get frustrated and fed up and end up going to Craglorn to pick flowers. I even tried Cyrodiil for a change this weekend - but the tutorial quest is broken ...

I did Grahtwood in normal content on my Breton (sorc). I am now there in VR content on my Redguard (NB). I had to level round quite a few quests on my Breton - in one case 10 levels round - I can't do this in vet content. I need xp to get to the next level but I can't get that xp because there isn't enough spare to allow me to go round quests and come back and do them later when I am stronger.

I enjoy doing the quests - even though I have done them on alts. I'm really not enjoying the impossibility level and dying every 5 seconds. I think I would be happier somehow doing the VR2 content at about VR4 or 5 - but I can't get there.

Please look at providing either more xp for vet content (quests and mobs), reducing the difficulty of vet content or providing more quests for vet content that don't involve multiple mobs or impossible bosses.

Anyone else finding this? That they actually like the questing but the difficulty is driving them nuts.

Do not reduce difficulty. I'm sick of seeing this and it sends a bad message. For once the difficulty of an MMO is about right. Most a re just face roll grinds. I see so many poor builds in this game and they are probably the ones whining about difficulty. Research your abilities, read every tool tip and find the synergies between abilities. Ask in chat or search on line. find the powerful combos that give massive damage, return lots of resources and keep you alive. If you expect to be able to slot 5 abilities that look cool and get through vet content forget it. I have about 6 different bars set in outfitter for each possible group, solo, combination of mobs. Is there a caster in the group, is the caster a healer, would CC work better then AOE. is this boss going to be immune to stuns....... this has to be part of your thought process for each fight and that's fine by me. It actually makes questing fun to do again on a different character because then its a completely different challenge. I have levelled a Sorc and a NB through vet content and loved doing both because they ere so fdifferent

Vet content can be a bear. I think that the difficulty of the game is about right (except Nightblades). I'd like to see the rewards for tough bosses go up.

End result -> a handful of spells that are viable -> people complain that those spell are OP -> spell get nerfed. Ie pointless amount of spells in the game.

Meh its not the difficulty for me, its the very little reward that bothers me. Why kill a pack of 3 mobs that only give 3 gold when you can just run past them a save time and stress.

When everyone has access to heals, cc and escapes, you have to balance the game around that fact. So make sure your build includes just that and everything gets a whole lot easier, even more so if you go for a magicka build.

What I dislike about VR content, that partly due to the above and partly due to balance issues, viable builds are somewhat limited and that the risk vs reward ratio is off. Up until VR3 difficulty ain't so much the problem, though that might change after VR5. Oh, and then there's bugged NPC abilties, like unbreakable 12s stuns, of course, which don't exactly help with the current situation.
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"

Look on the forum, there are several threads about it since Craglorn patch.

Apparently, they changed the HP and DPS on all veteran zones without puting it on the patch notes (Craglorn), then people started dying for trash mobs doing 2000+ damage in 1 shot, some came to the forum and asked on the patch day and even before EU server was patched.

At the day after patch, we got attention from one of the staff members, ZoSGinaBruno, to be precise, about that issues. They made a hotfix without reset on the server but that, unfortunately, did not get rid of all issues with certain NPCs on veteran zones and you can stumble in one or more each 30 minutes playing in VR zones.

At the same time, most of the people that were already VR10, even a lot that were VR1+ when that patch came just went to Craglorn to the new content and to grind XP/loot. These same guys think that the veteran zones are the same they had before Craglorn and some will just say: learn to play (L2P).

As you, lots of other folks are not aware of the mistake on changing the HP/DPS of trash mobs in the veteran areas (to resume: it's easier, A LOT, to kill the boss on a dungeon there than some trash NPCs along the way, so you can guess).

As for creating a new post you will get some flaming and very little advice. I would love to tell you that if you were successful with your actual build over the 49 levels before, was having fun and you like it, don't matter if is style of the looks of it, you would be able to go further, unfortunately, that is not the truth. At the actual stage of the game, you better get light armor and destro/resto staff and be a mage/caster like everyone else, mostly and more importantly, the ones that come here and say you need to L2P...

Keep in mind, I, personally, don't think you or anyone else need L2P if you are having fun and feeling good with the character you created, at least, that was what I thought when I saw on ESO advertisements: "play the way you want".

    Take care and have fun.
