Bot Police

MorteASH
MorteASH
I am new to the MMO scene but I can not believe how many different types of BOT there is running around in ESO. BOT's for BOSS farming, BOT's for materials harvesting both outdoor and indoor and now I see players with BOT's that follow them into battle and fight with them, yesterday I saw 1 player with 3 bots all of which had summoned followers all fighting together absolutely mashing everything in their path.
I report at least 4 players/BOT's a day along with gold spammers in chat and email.
I am starting to feel like the BOT police. This shouldn't be my job surely? but when your out looking for materials both outdoor and in and there is none to be found (ever crate, desk, sack and backpack cleaned out) it gets to be a real drag.
I've found that the only real chance I have to find Motif's is to sign on really early in the day when there are less BOT's about. Good job I don't have a life
Well rant over. happy gaming

Anybody selling Motifs and regs for an insane amount I have started turning in. ESO can look at their accounts and see if the gold and items are authentic or handed tot hem.

Earlier I told a seller "with a very simple name" that the only way someone could get 200k to buy his motif was to buy gold. He shut up for....about an hour. Then started again.

I agree with a post above. The farming chars are not what will hurt them. Its the chars they transfer all the loot to.

Apparently reporting bots seems useless as there are bot running around I have seen and reported weeks ago and they still keep running around in the game. Haven't seen or heard from a GM not once in this game so I'd guess there are none to take care of these bots, at least not in Coldharbour where the Grotto of Depravity is filled with vet level 1 bots, running the exactly same path over and over and killing all the mobs at the moment.

Each bot group has a master character, the bots are effectively slaves. Reporting the slave characters will do very little as they will just be remade under different accounts. Reporting the master character will do more good as that is the character that has to grind toget the bots where they want.

if they can get those master and or bank accounts they can hurt them more. A simple check of gold amount in bank or on person would fix this quickly.

The sheer speed at which BOT masters move about and the names they have make it very tricky to single them out. Otherwise I would report them more often.
But yes I see your point. Just can't understand the mentality of someone who wants to ruin the game for every other player out there. Just to sell masses of gear for GOLD and then to sell said gold on.
I have played all then Elder Scrolls from the DOS games up to Skyrim and they have been a joy to play.
This kind of exploitation just takes the shine off a really good game.

Since trains are usually a single 'boxer running several accounts then reporting a slave CAN lead back to the master if ZOS try: basically banning one account should ban all registered to the same person and this will deal with most 'boxers using third-party tools like ISBoxer to play the game is otherwise can't be played.

In a bot train of level 12s it's not possible to ID the 'master'.

While the bots at bosses and harvesting nodes are irritating, again all bag/wardrobe/sack/trunk/barrel/crate. etc loot is instanced to the player. The bots aren't taking away your chances at motifs.

If all the loot is instanced to the player then how is it that ever house I enter has been looted dry? not being obtuse, just curious.
Only seems to have started over the last week'ish

Are you sure? Seams I run into empty all the time for the past week. I'm lucky I got some aged pork after 30 min of searching all crates/barrels/etc. in Skywatch

When there's a group of bots speeding around and you happen to catch one long enough to report, the GMs can see what account that bot belongs to and ban the whole account. No need to figure out any bot "master".

Well I hope that the latest update to ESO goes some way towards curing the problem. Letting me get back to the real work of stealing from NPC's houses.
Here's hoping Zenimax succeed in wiping their BOT's (not forgetting to wash their hands after)

There seems to be nothing that can be done to stop them. They are flying around at high speed looting all the resources and avoiding being identified by disappearing. Using some kind of game exploit to go invisible or fly away. I haven't seen alchemy materials in days in dozens of zones. I'm at the point of where playing is no longer fun because the game is infested with them. Looks like time to find another game to play. I can't get anything done anymore with my crafting and more of my friends have quit over this very problem. it's a real shame. I really liked this game.

For a short while after the last update this problem seemed to go away.
That however did not last very long, as the BOT's are back in numbers. Again as DarcomX says there is little or no resources left for the pucker player to harvest.
It might be a good idea to drop the game until it becomes a free to play. That way I wont feel like I'm being mugged so much.

Often a client-side patch puts bot out of action for a few hours while the writers discover where memory locations have moved to. A brief respite, nothing more sadly.

That's bullshits, how can this be the best answer

I'm farming Dolmens only, got the 250/250 dolmen achievement and made a total of 70k with the new dolmen chests + chest I find around the dolmens.

Unfortunately I'm missing one rare monster to kill for the achievement so I will keep farming dolmens and I will probably reach 100k-150k

And I'm just Templar and Gold is not what I'm looking for so I believe a Farming class like a Mage looking for Gold can farm this finger in the nose by finding a place with lots of mobs and fast respawn rate, like a few Wolfs places I have seen in videos...
