FF14 successfully wiped their MMO and started afresh.

Are you of the opinion that ESO should do the same thing, perhaps wiping the servers fixing the game and re-releasing it in a better state? Perhaps they could release the PC and Console versions at the same time, I would expect this to take 2-3years.

    This game might have issues, but it is not nearly as bad as the first FF14.

    Although there was an argument somewhere that since ZOS developed their own engine, it is not very flexible, and that is the main reason why it takes SOOO long to fix "easy bugs".

    If they wanted to revamp or redesign the game engine, this would be a good option. Considering the investment already made, and how much it would take to do that, its highly unlikely.

    I don't think the game is fine as it is, but I don't think it needs to be restarted. Zenimax just needs to start discussing things with their players. They should be finding out what Nightblades feel is wrong with their class and make changes based on that. They should ask the community what it wrong with stamina weapons and melee in general. When we get large patch notes, Matt Firor and other developers should be reading the threads and answering questions/making comments.

    Right now, Zenimax is making the game Zenimax wants to make and the rest of us be damned. This is a fine approach when it works, bit this just isn't one of those cases.

    Define " successfully" ARR managed to get out of the red but went from a half finished game with some great playing mechanics to a polished turd that took the safe easy cheap wild star style route that does nothing new, fun, or enjoyable which is what people are comfortable with.

    I like this game and how it plays. Just needs to quit nerfing everything and fix these bugs people talk of.

    One of the things that needs to be fixed in this MMO are the obviously biased polls.

    People who never played the first iteration of FFXIV don't understand how fundamentally terrible it was, and how some bugs and balancing issues ESO has doesn't even compare to what changed over the course of ARRs development.

    This poll is rendered meaningless by providing only two answers, both of which sit at the far ends of a continuum. No, I don't think the game should be started over. But at the same time, it would be silly to suggest that there's no room for improvement.

    If they started again (6 months time) with a new server and everything balanced, then I would look at it. But is that just want they are planning to do with the console version? On the console it costs a lot of money to release patches, so they delayed the game until they can get that stuff sorted

    LMAO, saying a game with many combat options (FFXIV) is boring, while inferring one with only 6 available at one time (ESO) isn't, is simply laughable. You may not have liked FFXIV, that's fine, but please .... XIV's 'get out of the red' mechanic makes ESO's look trivial, people who can't beat Molag Bal because they can't dodge would never reach level 30 in XIV.

    Absolutely not!

    I accepted wipes during beta as par for the course. As a paying customer though, I would be incredibly angry if my live progress was wiped. I would not come back upon a secondary launch if this were to occur.

    The game needs some changes. You don't have to burn the house down because of a leaky roof though.

    OP, do you think investors would pump 50 to 100 million more dollars to take the game offline for a couple years? After its performance thus far? Do you think they would even invest another million? Bethesda will not bail ZOS out of this and is completely different than Square Enix.
