YES, I want to be able to domesticate any monster i meet in the game for both reasons, to have a pet to help me in fight and to get custom mounts
Continue to vote and give your opinion

If you like it, say which monster you would like to have with you and if you dislike it explain why.

    Thx <3<3<3

Mudcrabs strapped to my feet. How would that work extactly? I'd mount up and skitter away! Don't believe everything you hear.

I don't want pets that fight, but I would like one of the little billy goats for a vanity pet, they're cute.

It would be nice for specific classes, NB for example. If everyone had a pet it would be overkill, just one pet per player and only for specific classes (sorc and NB).
And please no flying pets, these ugly purple bugs sorcerers carry around are annoying, especially when their wing waves around all over my screen when talking to an NPC.
not to mention it dies as soon as the mob take a look at her.

Between this and your "More cartoonish weapons, please!" thread, I have to believe that you are literally looking for a WoW-clone. Because every feature you seem to want is already in that game.

I like the idea, but it may be easier to have balance be less of an issue if it stuck to mounts and cosmetic pets rather than combat pets.

    I'd prefer a wolf to a mudcrab.

I refuse to believe that a mudcrab has the durability or stamina to follow my horse through forests and mountain passes, and it really just aint that personable or cuddly.

Not particularly worried about whether a wolf would carry his weight in combat as an ally, though a token effort might be nice.

ETA: I'd like to amend the above.
I should think that having a Wisp as a pet would be just as good as a wolf.

I don't think domesticated is the word I would choose...

I'd like other familiar/summoning options (call them pets if you must). I'd like them to be worthy and be earned...(at least the ones worth having).

I'm not going for pomeranian/guar hybrid here so much as Grizzly/Durzog...but that's me. (We can share warm cuddles over the bloody hunk of meat they get as a treat for helping me lay waste to whatever crossed our path.)

I think there are other subclass possibilities ZoS hasn't considered yet (or just not implemented) such as Druid/Witch/Rogue...

I'd like to be able to train and level them...allow them to have their own skill lines and behaviors, earning XP at a rate related to mine...

And what I'd like most of all...is to be able to tell Mine apart from someone else's...(so I can at least know when this creature that is tethered to my very being is in distress, dying, or gone!)

(I swear I'd put a damn dog sweater on my Clanfear if it would make him identifiable from his purple cousins!)
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

Even though it sounds cool having people running around on Druagr backs and on top of Giants' heads would make the world feel less threatening. GO slay the Giant that is wreaking havok on the town then ride around on his head.

They could simply introduce more vanity pets. I think being able to tame anything would diminish the worth of the sorcerer skill line.

As for mounts, it would be nice to have some new ones, but again, not simply anything that's in the game, and not a huge variety honestly. Mounts tend to breach the point of silliness in other games. I would be more satisfied if they introduced a new mount type or two only if it makes more sense lore-wise for a race. For instance, from what I understand, Dunmer eat horses, they don't ride them.

It would be fun but would take so much developer time to get right, and the time could be spent on so many other things. If it was balanced properly it would be a lot of fun, and would probably have to take up a skill slot so it wouldn't be the case that everybody HAS to have something alongside them to be viable - that would be a disaster. Like some kind of ESO-pets expansion. But for aesthetic reasons like mounts that would be mega fun.

Oh yeh and don't make it easy, like high level monsters take a lot of effort to obtain - like a quest chain gives you the right to different levels of monster.

    Don't bash my Hunter, bro.

That said, I don't play WoW any longer. It's either ESO, SWTOR or TSW, with a little STO on the side when I'm feeling the need for P2W.

It was sooo much fun in SWG to be a creature handler (before the NGE update). I'd pay for a skill line that allowed me to control a level of monster(s).

it s not something i am waiting for, I don t need a vanity pet standing around to watch me and to do nothing... i want to have a wild friend who s living all adventures with me, not a summon, MY PET, the one I choosed because i find it cool or funny or cute or whatever.

Because having pets is so totally against TES lore. It's not like my kids in Skyrim adopted a snow fox. No sir.

Any monster shouldn't be an option. But some? Absolutely. Even if they're just cosmetic. It would be a good opportunity to add more variety to the animals in the game, make some that could realistically be tamed (think shalk, not ogres)

Yea I don't see an issue with vanity pets, but nothing like ogres or trolls for sure. When tamable pets do damage or tamable mounts are as good/better than store bought mounts is where things get ugly.

That's why if they do it, it should be Skill line like Vamp or Werewolf, or better yet like a crafting skill. You have to make an investment to tame something nice. Also if they wanted to steal from SWG, they could also make so you need to learn special moves from other animals to train your pet.
