Ultimate points generation - DK

Ok, I have a problem here that makes me wonder if my build is actually broken.

My standard ultimate ability cost me 200 points but I struggle to actually charge it up. I see during trials that other people spam their ultimate all the time and I cannot due to the lack of points. I've spoken with other DK guys and looks like I am using right skills but there is no change in the speed of building up ultimate points. I usually get only like one point for killed enemy. During boss fight I cannot get a single point despite spamming various skills (including dot based skills) on boss.

I also have problem with high enough DPS, despite using the same rotation as others I am nowhere close to what they are doing :/.

Any advise here will be appreciated

    I know about crit build reduction but i am talking in general, based on yesterday and earlier game-play. Unless I am killing a lot of trash mobs it feels like I am unable to build ultimate points. Maybe I am missing something in my build and that's why I started this topic.

    Actually, every class was nerfed with the ultimate reduction, not just DKs.
    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Because like me as a tank you don't have the required setup. If you go Destro/resto and pull large packs of mobs you will build it much faster. Now I'm not gonna question the motives of the devs but I would have thought that fixing the synergy of certain destro/resto builds would be better than just going out and nerfing the end result skills like the ultimates making the effects felt across all builds not just the OP ones. Tanks are now virtually useless for dps and tanking.

    Previous nerfs like shield bash which was basically the only dps skill we had whilst blocking and inhale which was our best magika managing skill during trash pulls have meant that there are very few tanks around now.

    The only way I can see tanks being viable is if they buff the melee weapon damage across all 1h weapons. This would need to be a passive buff and not a direct damage buff to 1h weapons (maybe have more than 5 heavy armor on for the increase or something along those lines) else other classes would then abuse this. Currently I can see the entire game filled with casters soon and tanks basically being left out of all groups because as it stands they are now a hindrance rather than an asset.

    I'm not a game programmer and I don't imagine its easy trying to get everything right with class balances, hell even now wow etc. are changing skills with every patch 9-10 years later so its and ongoing struggle to get right but I would say that to apply nerfs so frequently to 1 class rather than address the already broken ones isn't the way forward.

    NB and Temps need a boost and that should really be the priority in my eye's.

    Try something like this for single target, I am assuming you are within Melee range from the build you linked.

    Primary Bar (destro)

    1. Unstable Flame
    2. Degeneration (mages guild)
    3. Force Pulse
    4. Elemental Drain
    5. Inner Light (mages guild)
    U. Standard

    Secondary Bar (destro) Buff Bar
    1. Flame Lash or Silver Bolts
    2. Fiery Breath or Cinder Storm
    3. Evil Hunter
    4. Molten Armaments
    5. Inner Light (mages Guild)

    It's mainly about Stacking DoT's on a boss, keeping Elemental Drain on him from the improved effect and magicka regen.

    Hit him with Elemental Drain, Unstable, Degeneration, and slam him with Force Pulse until you hit about 30-40% magicka and then spam light attacks with the destro staff while your magicka regens. Can swap quick to hit him with Breath for another DoT, or throw down Cinder Storm (it won't snare a boss) for the 25 per tic and it is also on the earthen heart line which also yields Ult on cast, and is fairly cheap. I am unsure if the "miss chance" of Cinder Storm applies to bosses in Trials (doubtful never bothered to look). Keep inner light on both bars just so you don't have to refresh.

    From what I have seen, most of the ult generation is coming from repeated light attacks with the staff....light attacks....not heavy. Keep the Dot's on him, and just spam that staff, if you have excessive resources go ahead and hit him a few times with the whip, or peg him with bolts without screwing your ability to dodge or block.

    If it has adds, make sure the secondary bar is set up for AoE as that is where the true Ult generation comes from, this is purely from a single target standpoint.

    now you need to use your brain abit more than before, when dk's just push 2 buttons to faceroll every single pack of mobs

    I used that and also Equilibrium for fast mana recap and my DPS was better but still miles below others who claimed to have as much as 1.1 k on single target.
    On the trash groups i was able to pull around 600 DPS but on single target it was in the range of 300-400. I know that some of my skills are not maxed as yet but still wonder how I can get it over 1k.
