Since ESO was kind of supposed to be the legacy of DAoC, What are everyone thoughts on a dedicated PvP server like DAoC used to have, where anywhere can be a warzone. When I called DAoC home, I almost exclusively played on the PvP server. The feeling of going in to town to buy or do something PvE related, but having to be aware that there could be another realm player there ready to gank your ass.

I know at some points on the DAoC PvP server, it could become simple griefing, but hell I found that to be fun on both ends most of the time.

Do you current ESO players think something like this could work, and how? Or is Cyrodil simply aleady big enough?

The trademark of Daoc is the RvR, in fact the open pvp servers were not a success and got closed pretty fast.

Imho they should make Cyrodiil fully playable before even thinking to any other kind of pvp.

It would be awesome. And why not randomly drop 1-2 items equipped as well as Everything in your inventory.
Add PvP loot drops for some risk/reward in this game.

Nice server: fifteen players killing each other in white gear.

Camelot Unchained if the legacy of DAoC.

This, this is a mere shadow of what DAoC had to offer.

I don't think a PvP server would work purely because the factions are so separated.

You never bump into anyone of the opposite faction while going about normal questing. The only way to do it would be to make it free for all and that would get old real fast.

You'd never be able to group.

    Or do anything.

It would be a PvP server so PvP would always be on, free for all would always be on, so anytime you are at a world boss, dungeon, dolmen or helping someone with a quest you'd just end up killing each other.

    It would be a mess.

This game isn't designed for open world PvP.

What a lot of bullcrap. DAOC PVP Servers are still active even after more than 10 years.

Already did. And I also like this game. But that wont stop me from wanting more hardcore pvp mechanics.

What are you babbling about? Only one server is open and its an RvR server.
The open pvp servers didnt last long.

    You know the difference, right?
I have an active Daoc account, btw.

An entire server probably wouldn't work here..

    How about...

    Contested Zones

    Open World PvP
    50+ zones
Use some of the blank map

Yes they didnt last long, became soon a ghost town and got closed, and they are definately not "still active" as you say.

If it didnt last long or not, or if you like it or not, does it matter? If enough people here would enjoy it, that should not be a problem to those who dont like it. They dont have to play on that server.

It does not matter if i like it, but it does matter how long a server would last.
There are also resources and priorities, this game isnt doing well enough to open new servers.

oh now you step away from your argument, that pvp servers did close shortly after their launch.

better inform yourself next time you make statement like that. btw active pvp servers and pre toa servers can be found via google.
