My main is VR7, just an hour or two away from VR8. I did not use any exploits or cheats....I just played lots.

I have 5 other toons that I created on early launch, just to save the names. They compromise every spec available. I set out today to gather resources so that my main DK/w heavy armoring can also level provisioning.

I don't know why, other than I love DKs, but I chose my 2nd DK to carry on and gather resources while trying to level alchemy himself.

I must admit, rather than simply being a resource horse, I enjoyed the questing on my 2nd DK........so much so, that I found myself at level 10 and facing Doshia.

Herein lies the rub, or at least the source of my perplexion.

I recall being totally stomped by Doshia on the first go-round. For many levels. Even when I beat it at level 13, it was a close and hard fought battle. I was elated when I emerged victorious.

Flash forward to today. Level 10 DK. Trash was less than an inconvienience and Doshia died in under a minute, with no though on my part that heck...I may die.

What a difference from first toon to 2nd toon. Have I gained experience in the DK class? Oh, yes. Does this explain the different outcomes between a character 3 levels below simply pwning the boss rather than eeking it out? Oh...I don't think so.

My thoughts are on this fight, and how it was notably a special "come to Jesus" fight. You can play any way you want, but if you didn't have your act together, you weren't getting by this boss. No how, no way.

I'm dissapointed. I thought my experience would give me an assist, but not 3+ levels worth.

I think they dumbed this fight down, and that, in my opinion, is quite the shame. I recall the absolute joy when I beat Doshia the first time........this time...it was like stomping on a mudcrab....meh.

The best solution that I can think of is to allow groups of two to play through anything. I can understand anger and angst of being stuck on a particular mob that prevents you from advancing. I hope those of you who have difficulty with the seminal bosses can, if not appreciate, at least accept my frustration at having the content tuned down to irrelevance.

After all, if they can nuke Doshia, then they can and will nuke every other boss in the game. The first run through I loved Doshia....this time....I just feel cheated.....

Sadly, the number of players complaining that Doshia, being solo and 'unbeatable', was why they left the game.

I lost one guild member after a very heated argument for just that reason.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I agree. having a dificult boss early in the game had this great feeling when you beat it and pushed you harder toward making a better character just so you could pass her.

but unfortunately we are not the majority i dont think.
they likely had to pick between "this game is too hard! i'm gonna play something else" and "oh well i wish that was harder, meh"

    you see where i'm going...

I died so many times there on my sorcerer that when I went back later, 3 levels lower on my Temp, I was shocked at how easy it was. If I remember they beat her with the dumb down bat like a dead horse.

I don't know if they did anything with that fight but I have noticed that I've gotten a lot better at some things over time.

Particularly maneuvering and dodging which is often the key factor in big fights. Been gaming for decades and MMOs for 15 years but I've always used arrow keys for moving even in most shooters since there isn't usually a lot else you key for and you aim/shoot with mouse. Here you also have to key abilities so you pretty much have to use something close to the default setup which took a lot of getting used to.

For me, the big fights go tons smoother after a month of playing. Didn't even come close to dying on Molag Bol abd dropped him on first attempt while other previous fights were a much different story.

Haven't started an alt yet but kind of curious to see how it goes next time around.

Yeah. I agree with the OP. We should have a few very tough boss fights. Same experience for me - tough fight first time through, pretty mediocre second time. In beta I just couldn't beat her! hahaha

The second time I was all ready for a tough fight and it was over so fast to be forgettable.

I don't think I beat Doshia till level 16 lol. That fight was just stupid hard, paired up with my lack of experience, and inability to properly make use of my class skills... I honestly don't know how I got past that. It honestly must have been some miracle, but I was so happy.

Agreed Fleymark! Thats why I put this out there. Experience is key, but I wanted to know others opinions on the difficulty.

I noticed this on my alt too. In beta, I died at least 10 times and had to return several times before I finally beat her. When it went live, I was able to beat her after about 5 tries. On my alt, I walked up and roflstomped her on first try. I was slightly disappointed but moved on.

They nerfed the difficulty on this one and Gutripper (or whathisface in other guild quest), in one of the first updates.

Yeah they dumbed down this boss because too many people were complaining about the difficulty.

Once you work out the mechanics it's becomes a cake walk (like most bosses). But unfortunately people don't like challenges and flooded the forums and Zeni caved to the masses.

Yeah, when I was leveling my first couple of characters she was a seriously tough fight for me. I died lots of times before I figured out the mechanics of how she was constantly healing (this was with my dragon knight main), and even once I had figured out how to beat her it still wasn't easy.

They nerfed her hard, though. I was recently leveling a new dragon knight character and did this fight at 9th level. I slaughtered her before she even got a chance to spawn the healing orbs, without even having to do anything other than walk up and hit her with a bunch of damage abilities. So then, while leveling another character (this one a sorcerer) I did the fight again. I killed her before she even transformed into a snake-thing.

It kind of made me sad. She used to be a real challenge, but still beatable even with a non-optimal build (because I know my first few characters that I beat her with had non-optimal builds), and by a non-expert player (this is my 1st MMO, and I sure wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer) once you figured out what was happening and thought a bit about how to prevent it. Now you can just slaughter her without even thinking about what you're doing.

Honestly, I think you just got better at the game. That is why she seemed easier.

The only real thing they changed on her was the hit points on the balls. They could be destroyed with one power attack or two quick attacks instead of 3-4.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/76101/video-guide-how-to-defeat-doshia

You just have to use basic combat techniques,,, dont even need to use any abilities or skills against her. Or even invest in HP on level up.

I found it a lot easier the second time through but figured it was due to the fact that I'd fought Harvesters about a zillion times in the meantime. Hard to say.

They have made her easier. But also the only thing that made her hard was confusion on what to do and maybe having a skill point or two in the wrong place. By level 10 you don't have a whole bunch, so if you had been trying out this and that you might really be screwed here. Even the first time if you have the proper skills and knew what to do she was easy.

I really doubt that that's the only change they made to her. The battles I've had against her recently (using level 8-10 characters) I slaughtered her without touching her HP balls, without dodging, basically without doing anything but hitting her with some abilities. Early on I faced her at level 12 and got I was the one who slaughtered when fighting in the exact same way. It was only when I used better fighting techniques (including dodging and killing the HP balls) that I was able to kill her after a tough battle.

Preventing her healing "feasts" and breaking out of her strangle hold are important things to know about in fighting her but, they nerfed her. She used to be harder to get down to half or less in health and she would get more healing "feasts" phases because of it. She also got more of the other phases like the knockback and her strangle hold since she would rotate through all of them. Since she is now easier to damage, she doesn't get as many of those phases. I only saw one of each phase on my alt. They nerfed her.

    Yes,
We had the same experience. It wasn't even close to being like the first time around, and yes, felt very " let down " on the way out.

We, like you, spent some time wondering if it was us or the Boss being " Nerfed " In the end, just walked away shaking our heads.

We will be sending another chr through the quest soon and this time will be a bit more attentive to the fight, just for our own gratification.
    jen
The both of us share your feelings on hard early battles and having to rely on ones abilities and talent with your chr.to get to the other side

Aaaaaannnnddd I just went and did this quest again on yet another alt (I've got way too many of them), and the fight was over in 2 shots from Silver Bolts. Doshia didn't get a chance to attack, cast a spell, or transform. That was kind of sad.
