BOTS...have emotions or just advance scripted?

I was in Cliff of Failure (Cold Harbour) today grinding for some exp for my class skills to level up. Suddenly, I noticed a group of five bots showed up out of nowhere (the typical train of templars following same route jabbing everything). As a player who loves the game, I thought I might as well try to report them since they were right there anyway. Since they were all running the exact same route stacked on top each other, it took some time to wait for them to unstack to report (around 3-6min). Keep in mind that I am following them every step trying to get their names while trying to not double report a single avatar. As I submit the report on the 3rd bot, the last one stopped suddenly. He walked back to me and paused. It shocked me, I thought I was going to get ddos or something, I never seen a bot did that before. Then out of no where the bot whispered me "[snip] YOU!" followed by "[snip]!" 20second later, the train of bots disappeared.

So...they do have emotions, or was it advance scripting? :D

Well from this, I guess Zos do ban bots if it made one of them emotional about getting reported. o:)

You should have double reported that one, he used offensive language against you. :P

Pretty good to know they're getting annoying with people reporting them.

I wish we could capture them and interrogate them. Find out where the bot queen nest is, nuke it from orbit.

While it Eliza modules are possible, it seems like a worthless resource investment for botting.

Chances are high it was the operator.

    Re bot-trains:
I generally report only 1-2 of the groups. I asume a admin will come and look at that accounts characters and group-ban whatever train he is part of at that moment.

Might you have mistaken a multiboxer for a bot train? Not saying you did, just asking if you think you might have. It would be a little funny, lol.

if multi-box'ers want to be left alone from bot reports, then they shouldnt make bot-like parties.
sure, make 3 templars. just take their rags and give them lvl 1-4 baseline crafted gear. or cheap quest drops or white mob/chest drops.
most players would know the difference between a bot train and a mulit-party then.
(assuming they can tell the difference between the rags the bots wear and the rags the 1-49 lvl players now wear :P i cant hardly pick out the bots in the bank now that we are all wearing the elder tramps online coloursceme)

Multiboxers rarely do the constant repetitious motions like a bot train does where they follow a fixed scripted path.

I have a few multi-boxer friends and they play just like normal but with a train of toons along with them and just do the same quests / actions as most players. You see them in PVP or PVE.

Also the composition for multiboxers usually vary, a tank, a healer then some dps usually in 1 party.

i feel bad for them, thier life must not be easy. i was whisperd by one of them also but i respended back and said
    "((huggs))"
i was a bit taken back to see they do indeed have what seemed to be emotions because he was definately trying to reach out to me in cryodiil, yes, in cryodiil. what he whisperd was same thing you said "swearing and cursing me as i was battling him in gatting nodes, i think i made him mad cause i got a few nodes before him. all i saw was his head just slightly above the ground.
thier life must be hard and very unwanted as like the same for roaches and rats and mice here in real life.from birth till death they have only hate and reports to authorities if even spoted or seen.
yes, i do feel bad for them.

While I know all that, there's nothing to say that the OP might not have encountered multiboxers before. For someone who's never seen them, they can very easily seem like a train of bots.

And since every class can do all three of the trinity roles, Templar having the more variety of healing capability and a still-potent-when-in-large-groups cone AoE, as well as fair tanking capability, I can very easily imagine a multiboxer making a group of all Templars for the sake of ease of setup, rather than having multiple classes and coordinating them accordingly.

The OP didn't mention gear and there's no need to use more than a single Biting Jabs (if you're using it on 5 toons at once) to kill something in the zone he spotted them in. This means that they could very well have been setup in the classic 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS setup, but they never needed to heal or tank because mobs were being killed in a single cast (from each toon). The OP also didn't mention that they were following a strict route, but only that they were stacked together. Obviously, multiboxers often stack like this, too.

Given the information made available by the OP, I figure it's as likely to be a multiboxer annoyed that he was falsely reporting them (which would entail a bunch of needing to get some of his accounts unbanned, explaining his situation as a multiboxer) as it is to be a bot coordinator getting pissed at being caught and reported, especially at such a high level.

That is actually irrelevant. Multiboxing is against the rules as well. In fact I am pretty sure I am required to report them or risk getting banned myself.

If somebody does not know that Multiaccounting and Multiboxing are propably not wanted by the game company, he should not have the skill to do either in the first place.
Seriously, the time where anyone could claim "they had no "No-Multi" sign anywhere, they find it okay" have long passed.

What ever emotion they feel for being reported pales in comparison to the loathing I feel for them. If I could I would write a virus that would install Gentoo Linux on their systems after formatting the drives.

I have noticed some bot areas (recent: Reaper's March/@ structure that crosses road west of Vinedusk Village) the flow was in the scores. I found a point where they were dropping into the ground and hit "F" and reported. One bot stepped out later and was moving/gesturing differently. I was thinking that some of these are not just automated, but the botters are having a "controller" (read: human) that sniffs out "player cops" to adjust strategy. B)

I use FRAPS to record what they do, and FastReport add-on to make sure I get location of area etc.

I will report bots and multi-boxers. Can't tell the difference with jibberish names and 5 people stacked on top of each other (reported a group of 6 sorc, all with clannfear and twilight pets, all using shard spell etc). All wiping out entire areas of mobs in a set path.

Awesome. And I thought I was wasting my time yelling at bots (though I did it anyway)!

I should feel sorry for them, I guess. It's their bosses' fault, not theirs, same as telemarketers, but I have to take my frustration out on someone.
