Please Increase Drop on Alchemy/Flowers

This is crazy amount of farming. nevermind that the mostly useless plants like nirnroot are EVERYWHERE, and the plants u need to make decent potions are rare. The fact that u only get one "usable" and sometimes only worms, from a node is crazy.

I am in 3 Large trading guilds and if I can even find anybody selling like Columbine, Bugloss, or Lady's Smock, the price is high, 100g per, plus the waters. The bots have totally over farmed the areas that used to be helpful and ZOS has screwed us normal people by messing with spawn timers on the plants.

Atleast increase the drop per plant to 2-4 like it is with waters.

    I have to agree.
Although maybe they could fix the issue via a trait which gives you a chance of harvesting multiple reagents, like the Green Thumb one in Skyrim.
This would mean those invested into alchemy would be able to find more reagents to use in potions but it wouldn't become a large farmable thing for everyone, although my fear is with that system it still wouldn't bring priced down enough or fill the demand from alchemists for the items.

I was honestly surprised that there wasn't either a chance to get more than one, or a passive point that gets you extras.

Alchemy doesn't have a hireling either so that's not helping.. and yeah, the bots are now also farming alchemy ingredients.

    And runestones.

Yes I started in the AD in early access intending to be an alchemist. Boy was I wrong. No mats, no profession. Now I see they put a price on them as a bounty for the gold sellers.

I'll admit that I don't personally see the issue. However, I do farm a lot for ingredients. I know what areas to hit that have lots of Mountain Flower, Columbine and Bugloss chances. I know where to go for my level appropriate water and I spend way more time than I should doing that. Even knowing that I spend way more time than most other people doing this, I still can't see a way to make any sort of profit out of this (not that it's necessarily a bad thing).

I guess the way I see it, for players that don't want to do the farming, they can always find a friendly alchemist and buy their potions. They really aren't all that expensive compared to what you'd pay for the raw ingredients anyway. If you're just looking to level up alchemy, you can use any old junk ingredient and get to 50 very efficiently.

The problem is less of not wanting to farm and more of there's just not enough nodes out there with the underground bot farmers and the slight absurdity that every other node except enchanting stones gives more than one item.

There's three or four ingredients that are highly desired, particularly the ingredients in the health/magicka/stamina super potion. People want to make their own, but aren't finding any in the field, and when they go to buy they're overpriced *because* of scarcity.

Before recently, the bots left the alchemy and enchanting nodes alone.

Now they take aspects and alchemy nodes.

I am not against farming for mats appropriately, but spending 8 hours a day doing so is so NOT on my todo list. Even then, the ingredients needed are far outstripped by demand. i have orders for hundreds of potions that i cant get the mats at any price let alone farm enough.

Increasing drop to 1-3 also makes it more satisfying to farm due to randomness. Getting 3 columbine being one of those little oh yes moments that add up to psychological addiction in MMOs. As it is you always know you will get just one and only one and so farming is a bit boring right now. Or rather even more boring than it needs to be.

I think you've hit on a huge part of the problem. For the vast majority of players, health/magicka/stamina are the only potions that matter much at all. The ingredients that don't factor into those potions are nearly useless. I say nearly useless because you can still use them to craft up trash pots specifically for xp.

Yes I could be invisible for 4 seconds or I could have a potion that restores a good chunk of my life and keeps on giving for 14 seconds after that. The 4 second invis is niche at best and even worse because it puts your health pot on a 30 second timer as well. It's a risk to use anything that doesn't restore your abilities because of the shared timer. Add to that the fact that poisons aren't implemented at all, making most of the mushrooms pointless and you have 20 something ingredients out there with 3 - 5 actually being wanted at all.

There is a problem with the system, but not necessarily not enough mats to go around. The problem is we have too many mats that don't measure up to the ones that are actually good. The bots are a problem throughout the game and that's another issue entirely. I'll be happy when they aren't a factor, but balancing against the bots is also a poor idea because then once the bots are no longer a factor, the mats need to be nerfed down and nobody will want to see that happen.

I would definitely like to see a hireling for alchemy, at the very least. I don't understand why there isn't one, actually.

I also agree with either a passive skill buff in the alchemy tree that allows to up your chances of finding multiple reagents at one node or just randomly making it possible for finding 1-3 at a particular node. As mentioned, it increases that "woo hoo!" psychological achievement/luck feeling that makes you want to play more.

Could the node bots also be a part of the problem, remember they also farm the same popular nodes we regular players use.

I do agree with more then just 1 per harvest, we get it with mining / leathers but very rare with alchemy. When I get more than 1 even with a worm I celebrate lol.

Increase Runes first. I do all the crafts and Enchanting is the hardest to get mats for.

At at times it seems they don't correlate with the zone either.

I'm not sure nodes need to be increased. Alchemy has a passive that gives you 4x the potions when crafting, so 1 node = 4 pots as long as you invest the skill points. I'm finding it difficult to find Columbine too, but it's not nearly as bad as other things such as purple recipes, oats, etc.

Columbine DOES have 3 stat increases and allows us to craft the mythical HP/MP/STA potions, so it's only fitting that it's relatively scarce.

[EDIT]This isn't to say there isn't a problem with bots farming nodes. I just mean that they should deal with the bots and THEN we could talk about scarcity.

I guess on the whole I have to disagree with this.

My character is an alchemist too and I find plants everywhere, sure there are some places that are more dense than others, but that's the way it should be. Have you all invested fully in the 'Keen Eye: Reagents' skill-line for ease of detection? Also in 'Chemistry'? That skill - if you look at it a different way - is basically like increasing your harvest return by 300%.

If bots are the problem, increasing the nodes won't really help solve it. Though increasing the number of usable herbs from any one gathering might help a bit, yes. And a hireling would be nice too, yes, though we're already close to 20 skill-points under the Alchemy line, and that seems to be the loose benchmark ZoS is going for, so we'll see.

Things like Nirnroot and mushrooms will become more useful when poisons are released in the game.

    Excellent request.
I always found it strange that you only harvest one but get three or four when harvesting Iron Ore.
Then again isn't there a passive in Alchemy and Food that alloys you to craft two items for the price of one anyway?

    Nirnroot useless?!?
    Wow.
You use Nirnroot to level up by making useless anti-stat potions.
With other plants that have limited or no other use.

Alchemy is flat out the easiest of all professions to max out.

    * No recipes
    * Can see plants from WAY far away with passives
    * Can make multiple potions on one build with passives
    * Special category of potions (anti-stat) that are great for leveling.
    * Plants sell for 30g or more each
    * There are loads of plants every where, just everywhere.
    * The triple Health/Sta/Mag recharge potions are just awesome.
    * Waters for alchemy are there for the taking.
    * Plants are the same no matter what level or zone you are in.
    * None of this costs a single gold piece to do. Ever.

    Just my experience with Alchemy.

This is a post from around PC launch. There isn't a bot harvesting problem anymore. There are lots of plants now.
