... I think templars and nightblades should be buffed to the sorc/dk level. I know misery loves company but it would be a lot more fun for everyone.

    This is probably the solution most people would like to see, but I think somewhere along the line in MMO designer training, they get indoctrinated into a point of view that no class imbalance issue is to be resolved by buffing the weak classes.

    Yes, boost the classes, don't nerf them.

    Also I suspect that for PVE, the nightblade class needs a complete redesign, I would like to see both the Sorceror and Templar boosted to DK level though.

    I gave up. My melee Templar now wields a Restro and destructive staff. Chunked down my 20k at the shrines and am not looking back. It sucks having a VR5 and start leveling new skill lines but I don't see the melee lines doing enough DPS to stay with them. Long live the Elder Mage Online!

    explosive charge (templar skill) > searing light > ember explosion > blazing shield > whirling blades spam + crescent sweep for aoe

    power of the light > vampires bane> explosive charge > blood craze/expert hunter > biting jabs for finish for single target group bossfights

    I think my NB is just fine. People just need to get over the idea that NBs are somehow not supposed to put points in magicka and light armor.

    Seems I chose one of the weakest class/armor/weapon combos to start... a stealthy Templar/medium armor/bow + 1h&shield.
    I had the vision of a stealthy character using ranged dps and mixing in some survivability with templar heals (play how you want to play... as long as you don't mind being dominated by DKs and Sorcs in PvP)

    The last weeks i shelved my templar and grinded a DK/heavy armor/ dual wield + 1h&shield to VR1... it's a completely different game! DK skills synergize so perfectly that it's almost boring to tear through public dungeons solo! Mob groups of 5-7 are no problem (hold down right mouse button and spam some PBAOE skills). Most world bosses are no problem either, even without using ultimates. If it gets tough: Drop standart and just watch how the mobs die while you get health, magicka and stamina filled...

    Something a templar can only dream of.

    Now I have a very hard decision: Play the DK just because it's incredibly strong... or play my stealthy Bowplar, that I actually want to play and deal with the fact that I play a weak class... frustration...

    I agree with the OP, lets get all classes able to deal similar levels of damage in their own crazy ways without making them all identical.

    For NB this is fixing the broken skills at which point they may be level anyway, possibly buff up melee skills all round so people don't need to default to sticks & add some good stealth stuff in Theives & DB guild lines.

    Except DK's are so far ahead in dps that even Sorcerers cant keep up. Its not uncommon for skilled DK's to pull 1500 dps consistently. Sorcerers pull about half that except when in melee range for Daedric Minefield.

    Some nerfs, some buffs are needed.

    Regarding the forced solo content. Instead of nerfing those bosses, allow 2 person grouping.
