You could if you mirror the whole Windows installation, but that has potential problems of its own. You might be able to copy all the data files over to save you from going through all the updating once you install the client on your new computer. That might be the easiest thing to try.

    Just download it.

Your characters are saved server side so you can log in on any computer.

I just moved to another computer and all I needed to do was to copy the game folder over and the AddOns folder from My Documents. I could play it straight away even without doing repair (which I decided to do later just to be safe)

I did the following to move it to my laptop.

    1. Copy the current install folder from my PC to the shared network folder.
    2. Install the game on my laptop.
    3. Close the launcher once it started to download the game files.
    4. Copy the PC game files from the shared folder to the installed location on my laptop.
    5. Open the launcher again and let it verify files.
    6. Click play and enjoy the game.

Hope that helps. If you're not networked you can also try using a memory stick or external hard drive but the game is 30+ Gb so is a PITA to move that way.

Store the Zenimax folder on an external HDD and then boot up your new PC and move or copy/paste or drag the data into your new PCs files. Alternatively if you have a shared network linking multiple PC s you can probably access the game on your new computer via the old ones file.

I moved it from one PC to another simply by copying the Zenimax Online folder to the new location, then making a new shortcut on the desktop to start the launcher. It was not at all complicated. :)

Back in second last beta I copied the files from a friend to avoid the download, but sound was non-functional and the game crashed a lot for me until I made a clean reinstall (not even repair helped then).
But that is propably fixed now. And you can always try if it works and do a reinstall if it fails/you get lot of crashes.

All your Characters are stored on the Server and there is no autosaving of your password (so no chance you forgot it).

You might want to copy the Addon and SavedVariables folders to the new computer (avoid the whole Documents\ESO folder as it includes computer specific settings like graphics). The variables are propably the more important part.

Hi. Great thread. I need to use my game on a new laptop with much better graphics and specs. On my old laptop i had started with the Beta game & launcher and never changed it when i bought into the game when it came out, so if i download the game now it will be the regular game & launcher instead of the one i got in Beta. So i guess it is like a reinstall, except on a new computer. Will it still have my saved games server side? Is there anything special i need to do besides just download the game on my new laptop and play?
Thank you so much in advance. :-)

    Update:
I just downloaded the game again on the other laptop, and was able to play right away. It was that simple. Thanks everybody & good luck.
