lvl 34 main Sorc with a few alts and a fast 2nd Temp at lvl 21. like most others who've posted, any reason for taking the time to post means you give a damn. the elder scrolls sp games have a deep and well established core following, the proof is in the Mod community currently and constantly breathing new and exciting, as well as technical life into the games.

my observation here in the forums is one of general optimism with a tinge of frustration. I play FFXIV and until after 1.0 thought I'd never go back. SE proved me wrong and have a pay to play MMO which rocks.

Zenimax has a winner. ESO is for the most part is everything I'd hoped it would be if the Elder Scrolls games ever got a mutliplayer version.... with a few exceptions related to being four months old, the reality of operating mega servers, and balancing both the expectations of players and well as the in game reality of balancing skills and jobs.

and here's where I get to my title - immersed. I choose to be excited very time I log on. I choose to roam and spend my time reading most books I open and look around corners for who knows what. at lvl 34 and 21 I've experienced less than a third of what the world has to offer and am still filled with stupid joy at healing fellow players, how a solo dungeon ends up being a group of 5/6 players on the same quest suddenly drawn together by the immediate need to help one another.

the sense of it all happening in real time, no pause button and it still being the elder scrolls blows me away. there are bugs to fix... balances to be found and obstacles yet to be found - but I know we're all playing this game cause we've all been waiting for this... personally since 2007.

final verdict... as long as Zenimax stays on the ball, listens to players and weighs the difference between rants and genuine concern over game mechanics ESO has a future. peace

please let me know what you think.

there's a lot of praise for this game pre 50, not so much post 50

Hopefully they will move on to the post-50 experience soon. The pre-50 experience is a lot of fun. The post-50 less so, but that's usually the case with most MMOs.

I agree with the OP on immersion in the game with the lore, quests, and public dungeons. The Veteran stuff, I feel should stick wit ha Raid category. I feel that I MUST do the veteran grind in order to get status or progress to get the best armor, instead of a quest to....I am a huge quester and love to stop an read or listen to the NPC's "say and do their thing." What I am saying, I guess, is that I want a Elder Scrolls adventure. P.S. Please ESO place some chests, and some dam better chests in these dungeons, gezz...Are you all strapped for cash, or what?

This is always my argument on the forums.
Players who have issues with the game need to stop acting like cry babies and create constructive feedback about the areas of the game that need help.
Crying "OMG FIX THIS!!!" and threatening to leave the game is what a child does when they want something from their parents, it's also the kind of posts developers are going to look at and remember why they don't come to the forums to speak with us.

I really hope that after the community settles down and those who don't like the game have moved in the feedback on these forums improves and we get to a level where the games developers come online to read through our thoughts, can see evidence and data as to why something isn't working right or might be a little too strong right now.

Any way, a very nice post and thanks for being a grown up. :)

another observation both about the gameplay and the game reviews tackles players expectations of an mmo. I've watched a lot of reviews, both from the "ign's" of the world and individuals on YouTube and realize Zenimax may or may not have made a mistake by putting eso in the mmo box.

in some regards it is a multiplayer version of the elder scrolls, but I feel as if it's much more of a single player rpg where from time to time you can drop into dungeons with others, take on the dolmen with others or help out with the odd regional boss here and there. so my reaction to all the rants about "no end game content" is one of surprise.

this game is about the journey, the thousands of quests, scavenging for food ingredients or hunting down the hundreds of Lore books and sky shards. I have two characters one at 26 and the other at 34 while I have started a few others to see how much the gameplay differs from race, faction and class.

my experience so far is OMG I love the depth I can go to feel a part of the world, I love running from location and quest only to find myself running a dungeon another 15 times because I love running it with different players and I LOVE healing!

bottom line - if anything is hurting this game it's expectations, it's the mmo pidgeon hole it was dropped in, and it's the reviews by players who put in a fair bit of time rushing to V12 only to realise they didn't even touch a quarter of what the game has to offer.

ps - I saw two V's fighting a lvl 23 boss just for the achievement.
