How much of a mule can you make a horse?

One thing about maintenance down time; it gives you the opportunity to ask all those questions that you wonder in game!

Regarding horses, what does the capacity do? It says that it increases carrying capacity, but how?

Does it provide extra slots as a kind of four-leg inventory bag, or does it simply improve speed and stamina stats for the horse?

Sir Basil Ozarian - male Imperial Dragonknight Daggerfall Covenant (this character is titled, but not entitled!)

It just adds the extra slots to your own inventory while ever you have that horse active.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

    Thanks for that slof.

Now when you mean active, do you just mean that that horse is selected and appears on your character tab or do you need to be riding it?

What if you are at capacity with the slots and you either dismount or make another horse active? What happens to the gear that was in the slots associated with the mount?

When it is selected and appears on your character tab. I have no idea what happens if you deselect that horse.
Every time someone swears, it gets replaced with three asterisks. There's only one three-letter swear word that I know of. I read that in the place of every set of three asterisks. It makes for some amusing sentences.

You can add up to 50 slots with purchasing from stablehand. So, if you have 50 bag slots purchased, with your Imperial horse chosen, you get 100 bag slot total.
HOWEVER, if you decide you want the new shiney Palamino to ride around, you have to put away your Imperial horse. Viola, you now have only 50 bag slots available. If you have 51 items in your bags, you will get the message like, "your palamino is not available".

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

Anyone willing to give it a go?!! >:) You know, just for the sake of research. To appease inquiring minds.

Perhaps hold a few legendary type items that are pretty well impossible to replace... just to make it interesting! Any takers?

Thanks Darlgon. That answers that. I might add a bit of capacity to my steed now knowing all of that.

The horse with extra inventory only applies the extra inventory when it is the active horse and not in an additional stable slot. I don't know what happens if your Inventory is full and you try to switch from a horse with extra inventory bonus to none.

I think the most back space you can get from a horse is 60 (one of the horses start with 10 storage).

I am sure there will be epic horses later on with more abilities.

Well that just sucks. I guess I just made a mistake in ordering the Palomino and will try to get a refund. I would have thought they would have tied the extra bag space to your character rather than a individual horse, or at least provided a way to transfer the extra carrying capacity from one horse to the next. After all, saddle bags are interchangeable.

I've been leveling up the bag space on both of my horses every day. That way they both have the same amount of storage and it doesn't matter which one I feel like riding.
