Is there a way to change your class? Should there be? Can't I just pay to respec and change my class? Thoughts on this? I'm a DW heavy armor templar. Some healing some melee some magic some ranged...but with all the changes all the time I think a class change option would be a good addition.

Would be nice if you could do that, but sadly it's not possible right now.

You would think with skill and attribute reset this should be easy enough to do...you would only have exp in the same weapons and just have to build a new weapon skill up.....no big deal. It's a better option then building a new character and going back through starting levels....maybe even make this a quest reward.

I'd switch to Sorc from NB, but I don't have the heart to do all of that again. I'm on the 3rd alliance now at VR7. Just too much time invested.

Then there would be 80% DKs and Sorcs. But yeah, I think it would be nice to reschool our characters so we could try out another class.

If you allow class change the whole game will be DK and Sorc only.

Should give zen a wake up call that maybe something is wrong in their game , which they still seem to not have noticed.

Anyway OP , there is none right now.

I also support this , mostly because lvling alts in this game is just plain horrible since once you get up to vr8/9 you pretty much already know all factions and would be just redoing quests.

This game does not offer multiple questing paths for each faction, which many other MMO do and at the same time asks for a LOT of time to reach the lvl cap.

Yeah I unknowingly started 4 characters...With 1 being like 10 lvl ahead and crafting set items for other toons...Once I hit vet 1 and saw I was doing it all over I stopped playing other toons because what's the point?
I thought for a while how nice it was to play other class^race^faction....until I found out you do it anyways....ughhh it sucked alot of the life right out and then console push back...then lack of anything else to do is really draining my will. Now I don't want to pvp because everyone's v 12 dk vamp or sorc...wiping out entire groups single handed

You can switch class by rerolling, as in about every other game. Letting people change class on the go would be a bad decision in my opinion, since then you wouldn't really have classes at all, just some skill trees. Next people will be asking why we can't pick skills from each skill tree etc.

Is anyone actually surprised you can't change classes on an existing character?

Just grind with me, I'm able to hit vr1 within 20 hours played game time, need a grinding partner though. After doing some of the factions quests 100% completion, I've seen the better way to level.

It's not to re roll a character it's to add something more...A different option...you can totally rework your skills...but once you have your soul back...maybe it cries out for a change??? Lol.

If you want to play a different class make a new character.
At some point people need to realise that some choices have to be set.

Changing class would just mean everyone would switch to the current FOTM class and build, you would see Nightblades vanish over night then when they're fixed and maybe even broken all the Templars disappear because Nightblade is now the best.
If people want to change their class as often as they change their underwear they should be forced into leveling them, if you didn't realise you didn't enjoy your class before VR levels then I don't really know what to say.

I dont see why that surprises you.

Before VR lvls the game is pretty much a joke where the craziest builds would work on most cases.

The VR lvls that show the true face of the game and reason tons of people got stuck and had to respec...

And again , i repeat , ESO lack the options to actually keep the players that want to reroll.

It does not offer enough quests in the same faction path , which is a need for this. The player would need to do the same exact quests over and over or change to PvP , which many would also refuse to do.

Ofc , probably zen will eventually cover for this adding said quests , but that might take sometime.

And whats with people affected by recent (game breaking?) changes, which mades people who play a class totally mental by questing solo in one of those higher Vet Areas, but have been fine before?

Valid points in regards to my comment on VR ranks. I personally had the same issue with my Nightblade but reset to a more usable build in VR zones.

However I still think it only goes to benefit the FOTM players and the proliferation of broken classes.

Yea. Since i spam Vulcanic rune (Mage guild) and Devourers swarm on every mop (Vamp ult) i barely be able to manage to proceed. Yay. totally class unrelated solution. :|

I see some reason to everyone's side. I understand that the nerfs they add also change the dynamic....it sucks to play the game at a decent rate and then become impossible for a build you have played for a month. However if the classes were more balanced and you take out the op portion of class change....you start all over with each area....almost going back in time...shouldn't there be a difference with how you might have developed in a different setting? Different people different teachers different encounters? So maybe having a class change related to a story line quest...it gives a good goal for questing...and you could make it a 4 man quest or 12 in crag loan as well....This I think would be a good motivational reason.
