Scout Mission Farming and The Noore Suppression

Hi, I am the current Emperor of the Skull Crusher campaign. Awhile back after doing tons of repeatable scout missions I figured out how the system worked and a way to make great exp, gold and ap farming the scout mission. In my campaign we own the whole map most hours of the day. All we had to do is leave 1 resource uncaptured at a Keep we could teleport too. So by capturing everything on the map but one resource, it forces the scout mission quest to always be at that location. So we started doing this and everyone was having a great time doing the repeatable quest. Then one day the guild leader of The Noore says this is a exploit and informs his people to always capture every resource on the map so we can no longer farm the scout mission. This caused many problems. Many people were upset that this 1 guild took away the great quest they were enjoying. For 1 whole week all the repeatable scout missions did not work, it was like the Dev's turned them off because someone was crying exploit. After the first week of broken repeatable quests everything was working as it had been in the past and no one was warned or banned for exploiting. Now this bring us to our current state of the game, last week the dev's said this in the patch notes.

Scouting quests will no longer send you to a location you can transit to via the Transitus Shrine network if you own all objectives in Cyrodiil.

Ok so in my eyes and anyone else that understands how the scouting mission works we should not capture everything so we still have a quick repeatable mission. But according to The Noore Police this is not intended by Zenimax and The Noores policy is to still capture every resource on the map. At this point I dont really care if they capture everything or not, The thing that bothers me the most and the reason Im writing all this is I hate seeing 1 person or group of persons HOLDING OTHERS BACK. They are not just holding back players in this campaign but all ESO players because anyone can guest or travel to player to get here.

We could have a great thing going in our campaign If we had a quick repeatable mission but it seems The Noore are going to do everything in there power to keep that from ever happening.

So you're complaining you now have to go and play on a campaign where you're not in control of the entire map... actually PvPing in PvP? Perish the thought.

LOL - some of the cheese tactics people come up with just blow my mind. You'd think the devs would have thought of this. Why not have the scout missions send you to a random location on the map. It shouldn't have to be a keep or resource.

I agree with The Noore for policing up the exploit. They aren't infringing on your ability to play in anyway.

3. Take off all their armor and run for the flag to suicide by NPCs

it is folks like you that find ways to exploit existing game mechanics that lead to quests like the repeatable kill 20 enemy players get nerfed

you only got to be emperor because you farmed the exploit non stop over and over for hours every day - ironic to claim you're so awesome at PvP when your title was earned mainly through PvE

and might i remind you, as many of your guild mates will attest - that we have fought hard to defend you on the throne - not because we care for you, but rather because we will have fun regardless of whether a cheat sits on the throne or not

asking me in private to leave a resource uncapped so that you can farm it, and when i disagreed, threatening to turn all of your AJSA buddies in zone against me is - well - just pathetic

naming and shaming is against ZOS policy - i'm more than happy to answer your accusations since you started the thread

btw - how does it feel to be emperor, defending a keep with your 10 of your friends against 6 EP, and with your double siege weapon damage bonus still have a need to stand in a puddle of stacked caltrops - you want to talk about folks ruining a game? - look in the mirror mate - we left that defence because we were embarrassed to be next to somebody in our alliance, that has dominated skull crusher for over a month, and still finds a need to cheat and exploit against enemies and allies alike

if you want i'll be more than happy to post the screen shots of our conversations we have had both private and public

until then we shall for sure not assist in your cheating methods

You're the Emperor in a PvP campaign, and you're complaining about a PvE quest being unavailable to you. You evidently want to run that one quest over and over again all day. Hit lever, get pellet, repeat.

It saddens me that the route to Emperor, at least in that campaign, revolves around exploiting a PvE quest.

90 second turnaround time exploiting this quest - farmed for hours a day - and he's surprised that folks that legitimately try to gain AP are against this exploit

what the OP fails to realize is the negative impact it has on folks legitimately wanting to run quests

he admits to setting up the exploit - admits to farming it - admits that changes were made to help prevent it - and then admits he finds other ways to get around it - this will result in even greater quest changes that will effect every player in every campaign, and usually not in a positive manner

what he doesn't realize is that he is playing an mmo, which by definition is a community, and is then offended that members in that community take it upon themselves to try and stop him playing Thorkerville

I'm a bit worried about this thread, though. I'm starting to think Thorker has some serious issues and getting blasted even in a game world is like the prelude to one of those tragic stories on the news. Hopefully that's not the case and he really is just a giant narcissist.

If I am thinking of the right guild then Noore is also trying to get people to stop using caltrops. You should be thankful to be on a campaign that has a guild trying to bring legitimacy and value to the campaign. I would gladly trade you our exploiters for those guys any day.

OP actually is quite clever and has a slightly new system since the patch came out that will only give a scout quest to resources belonging to a keep that you cannot fast travel to -

1. leave a resource untaken at a non fast travel keep that is very close to the keep to optimize turn around time
2. fast travel to a keep that 'miraculously' just had a resource taken (i have no idea why a legitimate group of other alliance toons would run all the way from their home gate, past other untaken resources and keeps, to take one sole resource at glademist and then just vanish, if not to help in this)
3. Take off all their armor and run for the flag to suicide by NPCs
4. rez at 'distant' keep, run to resource and scout, use equlibrium to die and rez at quest board
5. Rinse and repeat until they get tired of farming said area

this seems to take them about 3.5 minutes instead of 1.5, so the scout exploit patch has at least slowed it down somewhat

might be that the devs have a look and figure out a way to prevent this that hurts the legitimate players out there, not by intent, but to curb the exploiting - 24 hour scout and capture quests anybody?

It's actually pretty sad how quickly we can kill him and his buddies (even when we are outnumbered and outranked). Honestly come to think of it...it normally takes a substantial group of them to root us off of a resource after we've taken it. And no we don't go hide inside and farm at the doors but to be fair we don't stray to far away from the NPC's so if we have that "oh ***" moment we are within reach of safety pretty quickly.

Honestly I want to say thanks for not partaking in the petty bs that caltrops have set upon all of the other campaigns! Win or lose it's still fun and only a game!

To the OP, this is a clear abuse of game mechanics to simply choose to NOT capture a node, not because you don't have the manpower to capture it, but so you can farm a repeatable quest. This is by definition an exploit. You're exploiting the game mechanics for unintended quick gains. Now admittedly this fault falls on Zenimax for not planning for this and coding appropriately, but I for one applaud The Noore Police for preventing such a cheap exploit. It's amazing how you make yourself out to be the victim in your post... truly a sad outlook.

yeah - we have fun matching up against you guys normally until you-know-who shows up

even last night as we were retaking the keeps i was chatting with nasasn (the EP emperor) about where we were so he could enjoy the fun (albeit for a brief time) of all the emperor perks

we met at Chalman and agreed no caltrops and he made an epic and heroic last stand defence - he had oil pots set up around the front flag and was dropping us nicely with the double siege weapon damage emperor bonus - in comes some other folks and start laying down caltrops all over the place - sad to see

we actually have some folks now from an AD group that sees us as the 'evil empire' spraying caltrops all over us to make it look like that's how we run - amusing and pathetic rolled into one - sad thing is when you're on the other side all you see is names and caltrops and it's natural to make the wrong conclusion (we will start using caltrops when we see enemy toons doing the same, usually in wabba)

if you guys are up for some 5v5 or 10v10 in the open with no mages, caltrops, siege equipment etc let me know - I think McTavish(sp?) and co rule usually with even numbers and no exploits, so could be some good fun

and don't lose heart - this set of 90 day campaigns is almost over - i think they will start of with fewer ones on the next cycle so a lot of this bs will be a moot point anyhows

You should have your emperor and ex emperor stripped away from you. Just because you find an exploit doesn't mean you should use it. It's sad how people have no shame in abusing tactics that are obviously broken. It's even sadder that you come on here and complain about people who were stopping you from exploiting and whine that you can't exploit anymore. Should ZOS have seen this coming? Yes. Should they have fixed this by now? Yes, but have a little class and not have to abuse every tactic to get ahead. Doing so actually hurts the game by frustrating people who want to play legit. I applaud the guild stopping you and really hope ZOS takes away your "achievement".
