Motif Market Crashed - Higher difficulty needed!

People are finding a rare motif practically once per hour (Primal, Barbaric, Daedric, and/or Ancient Elf) and in some cases even faster. The Primal and Barbaric motifs were worth 75-90K gold... and now they can hardly be sold for 20K gold. Meanwhile Daedric and Ancient Elf were worth about 150K and 100K respectively... and now can hardly be sold at all due to vast amount of folks farming them up... they've gotten to the point they're being given away. So the market for those of us who were trying to gain a monetary foothold has been lost in this form. Can I get a response from Zenimax about the future of this issue?

Oh and the reason the prices are crashing is because people thought they could make money with the items they mass farmed prior to the nerf and then when they saw the nerf was left in the patch notes, they figured they could cash in on people that didn't know they were old patch notes.

Failing to take into account that they fixed the empty container bug and other people were going to flood the market with their wares.

So like I said the first time, it's good that they're crashing. 250k for a daedric was ridiculous.

The prices were artificially inflated due to a container bug. If you were hoarding motifs just to sell them for ridiculous prices, that's your problem.

Recipe drops? Are you joking? I've been in VR content for 4 weeks, farming for recipes for at least a couple hours/day unsuccessfully, & they just got harder recently. You don't see people spamming those for sale, but you do see people spamming that they're buying them...for 100k.

i,m glad they are cheaper i sold one 2 days before the patch for 175k.. now i could have got much more but i wasn't into trying to gouge insane prices... now i could buy one for about a quarter of that .. good business i say =D

Yeah, recipe drops (rare ones, that is) are still pretty ridiculous. One person in my guild has found a purple recipe and that was for a lower level drink that no one will use.

Hey, I still have not found a one since early access. Maybe I am a minority, but you might want to double check on how common this is.

Where? I have played every day for 4-6 hours everyday doing quest lines and exploring the content and I have yet to get a single motif since I first got into coldharbour at 48 and I am almost VR8. I have completed the full AD, EP campaign and I am half way through the Covenant

It is not the job of Zenimax to provide you with a method to make in game money - it is their job to create an enjoyable game to make them real life money.

People getting occasional drops of rare motifs during normal gameplay = happy players.

People having to pay upwards of 200k in gold to obtain ultra rare motifs = grumpy players. And worse it tempts people into going to gold sellers as 200K is not an easy sum to get for most.

They made a good call.

I have to wonder about this as well... I see the Ancient Elf and Daedric Motifs flooding the market but I haven't seen a single rare recipe for sale since the patch.

Another thing, as time goes by, more players will reach cadwells silver (barbaric and primal) and cadwells gold (ancient elf and daedric) So that's more opportunities for these players to obtain them. Too bad, so sad that you can't monopolize them anymore.

Well, he's referring to people who are just farming for motifs. If you're asking where good locations for that are: any house/inn with lots of containers. Daggerfall is a great example.

Purple v5 honey brittle recipe can be sold for around a million atm. But blue recipes drop like rain and I can see them nerfing them (they drop as commonly as motifs do).

They should go further and just send then all in the mail to everyone and stop this blatant rip off from the log in log out farming fools.
I found a Daedric last night just doing a quest. It was very satisfying.
I'm glad I never spent a cent on any Motif.
I also tell everyone in zone about the "fixed" drop rate or where I see the ant scurrying around trying to farm them when one of these scammers try and sell one for over 30k.

Honey Brittle Recipes don't, haven't, and never will sell for a mil.

I appreciate the tip, I do go through each house/inn in each new area I go through but as stated I have not gotten one in a long time, I will go back to Daggerfall and give a run around there to see what pops up.

It never should have been something you could log in and log out for. I think the mechanic sucked

but there need to be rare things in MMOs... I hate that people felt like they absolutely HAD to have the daedric motif.

The outcry from this I'm afraid will send a message to ZoS that all things should be handed to players.

No rare mounts no rare pets? Nothing to get excited about?

Kids, candy tastes sweeter when you earn it and the low hanging fruit is usually not as tasty.

Hey, if people are truly giving the Daedric or Ancient Elf motif away for free like op suggests, I'll gladly take them. I've been trying since day 1. I have horrible luck with motif finding, and I've only found 2 in the 200-300 hours I've played, and those were the Altmer and Khajiit styles.

Kyosji I don't mean to sound rude when I say this but the amount of time you play has nothing to do with your chances of finding these motifs. It all depends on your time/amount of opening the various types of furniture and other objects that can hold these. Most people assume the drop rate is roughly 0.01% which means about once every 1000 objects opened should yield you a motif. If you spend time going from building to building hunting these objects you will find them.
