Crafting Items and Market Values

ESO seems to have the most volatile market economy of any game I've played previously. Now, I am Rank 1, so I would guess I'm not that far along, so I hope that maybe I have just not progressed far enough, but I would think that crafting items such as Mastic, Rosin, Turpin, Dreugh Wax, etc. could be purchased from a merchant somewhere.

Typically, the games I've played allows one to acquire such things from merchant NPS, which helps stabilize prices, and thus the economy. I would like to hear from others. There are so many guild stores, but with a limit of five, and without a world market per se, it seems like everything is price gouged to the max.

I would like ESO to consider this option. I would have no problem spending the coin to acquire such items from an NPC, but the selling prices in many guild stores is bordering outrageous. I think this option would stabilize the markets across Tamriel. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Anyone can ask anything for an item. Doesn't mean people will actually pay that much.

Offering high level tempers at a merchant shop is a slippery slope. Gold farmers would have a field day pumping out legendary gear ...

The only MMO I have ever played where price gouging players to death was not the norm, and in which there were no gold farmers, was City of Heroes. How did they manage this?

They made it easier to farm drops, and easier to make money. Players had so much money, they created new uses for it, such as big cash prizes for character costume contests.

This solution works. The game was still making money after 8 years before it was unexpectedly shut down, and based on the outcry of the player base, it would have remained profitable for years to come.

I especially love that you have to buy 4 blue tempers for ~500g each and 5 epic tempers for ~900g each and then sell whole item for 1.5k... Crafting armor and weapons just isn't worth it - unless you are a botter with unlimited supply of tempers.

Oh well, but with resource nodes being harvested by bots speedhacking underground, players can rarely get any materials to get his OWN tempers, even for his OWN armor and weapons.

I originally planed to post pics of my crafted armors on eso-fashion, but in reality the best I can do is post white and green - I don't have nearly enough blue tempers and just a handful of better ones (which I throw in a bank to save for VR12 sets). I have to leave that job to rich botters and exploiters who are swimming in whole stacks of them.
