i know what you are saying i am refusing to level up by questing in the other vet areas i am just going to crag and doing quest the delves there

I found 'speed questing' - as in not reading anything - to be rather fitting for the VR quest grind. So i can save the content for my Alts. It's still no fun, really, but ain't a chore that way either. Just a mind-relaxing grind. Preserving the story by not partaking, I can still look forward to doing those zones again.

Well, at least that's the current plan, here's hoping I won't burn out. There's still plenty of VRs missing. And I can understand why people would want to skip it. But I'm sure I'd burn out even sooner, if I did. And I'm certain quite a few of the exploiters will do so way before me.

Exploiting - just ain't worth it.

The simple fact is I believe that there is a large portion of the player base that only care about hitting the highest rank and gearing up in legendary gear and they dont care how they do it. That is the entire challenge and purpose of the game for them. They aren't interested in long term groups or having regular people to play with they just want to "go go go" and "11111" through the quests. The clearest evidence of this is that 95% of all "lfg" on zone chat in Craglorn was for Kaldara/Anomaly grinding. We have a brand new zone filled with new content, a lot of which is really well thought out and fun, and all people want to do is get VR12 so they can access endgame loot.

Some will do hardcore exploits for this purpose (dupeing and botting) and some will exploit errors in game design (grey areas) when it's considered generally accepted by a large portion of the player base and not specifically stated to be cheating (Darkshade, Fungal Grotto, Kaldara and now Spindelclutch). The moment they address one these issues players will find a new way to grind out maximum experience unless there is a viable alternative to questing.

If the developers want this sort of behavior to stop the only way to do it is to offer a legitimate alternative by offering a way to grind that compares with questing for experience (dungeons would be obvious place to start) and making questing more rewarding. Personally I felt all of the Craglorn quest rewards were a total joke especially the "Yokudan boxes" when 90% of those items are dropped by any monster on a regular basis which made it hard to argue their merit apart from "well its going to be a fun experience" to which the normal reply is "questing is boring". Sure you can say the game is not for "grind" style players but they make up a significant part of the subscription paying MMO market and ignoring them really isn't a good option.

I do the same thing, but really because my Main is my crafting toon, and It feels stupid paying attention to VR quests that I want to enjoy on a more RP'ish Alt in the future. There is a disconnect from immersion when doing VR content anyway, probably because the main storyline ends at 50, and even cadwell doesn't drop by to check on progress. yeah... head in the sand for me until I start my sugar-daddied alt.

Clearly, your opinion must be the only valid one.

Your playstyle is the only valid one.

The game should be made with only 1 viable levelling route.

Only your way should be considered right and holier-than-thou.

How about you take a step back, and consider that there's a variety of people who make up the playerbase, and how they choose to spend their in-game time is up to them and differs from person to person.

Because YOU personally enjoy taking 8 months to gain 1 vet level doesn't make it everyone's idea of fun.

Oops! I tried to be as vague as possible when explaining the difference in just farming the dungeon and the actual exploit used.

Thank you for escalating it. Hopefully it's resolved quickly.

I used the group search tool to find a group for Veteran Spindleclutch. When we approached the first boss, a member of the group informed us of a way to kill the first boss repetitively. I also submitted a report for this player along with a screenshot of the conversation where he explained how to do it.

I see many people in zone looking for more players for the "Spindleclutch Grind" and the use of this exploit is just bad. Very bad. Players are going from V1 to V5 in less than a day by killing this boss over, and over, without ever leaving the dungeon.

If this is NOT an exploit, please advise.

You're worried about people getting V1->V5 in just a day when people went from V10->V12 in an hour after the patch was released?

I am starting to think that ZOS don't give two *** about exploiters.

Most don't care much how people get to VR10, yes its quite possible to have the tamriel hero achievement now.

I enjoy questing but if I level an alt this year I would probably look into speed leveling.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I worry about exploiters in general, it's ALL bad, no matter what level uses them.

I singled out this exploit because I experienced a group trying to use it first hand. I am sure they completed it after I left, no doubt.

I was not aware of the V10-V12 in an hour or any exploit used to level that quickly. I assure you if I had, I would have done the same thing I did with this thread.

I'm not sure if it's that they are apathetic to it. It could very well be that the exploits are not being reported. Lots of players flame and hate on those who bring up the fact that exploits are being used, and lots of players know about the exploits and actually use them... and then the players that say nothing at all.

Right then they get to the "end" and start crying about nothing to do 2 weeks after launch. It sucks that these people exist, they do absolutely no good for a game except turning away customers(even tho the customers shouldn't believer what everyone says and should find out how it is on their own)

heard a rumor of a ghost patch for spindle. dont worry do-gooders! the problem that DOESNT affect you in any way is going to be fixed!...but seriously. why worry about a problem that doesnt affect any parties except for the group that is doing. also idk if people are going to be banned for it due to the sheer amount of players doing it and the fact it doesnt break the game and/or scam or harm others.

yes it is an exploit but unlike the Duping exploit it doesnt do the stuff i said. so yes it will be patched but for those who did it. i dont think that they will ban due to what i stated (this is all chance as i dont really know but am hoping that Zeni doesnt ban Legit players due to this. i had several guildies state they would quit if they were banned (even temp) cause of it not affecting anybody in a bad way and also they will lose money too)

all you guys are worried about is others getting higher vet ranks then you do at questing. Vet questing is horrid and alot of people i know prefer to grind and level quicker.

so. i ask you Zeni. will players be banned for this? i hope not as again. no harm done to any players. no scamming.and i believe as do alot of others that we are still testing the game lol.

so. what do you say zeni? i want to hear what you say. not the opinions of other players that only assume that they know what you guys will do :)

Ahhhha! So with testing the game there is reporting the exploit.. NOT abusing it. Or.. am I wrong? It's OK to abuse an obvious exploit just because the game, in your eyes, is unfinished? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on that. Honestly. Here's what I think you're saying - "The game isn't finished and everything is broken so you shouldn't punish myself or other members for using an exploit instead of reporting it because it was your fault it's there and we're not hurting anyone.. but we're not doing anything to make the game better, either!" Sound about right?

Uhhhh.. No? It's not that a player is quicker or slower at leveling. It's the fact that they are using an exploit to get there. We ALL want a balanced game. We ALL want one without bugs, bots, crashes, lag, unbalanced..right? Well THIS is a part of that. Exploits. It's, for lack of a better term, absolutely stupid to say that the "do-gooders" are just worried about getting out-leveled.

This is hardly an exploit; its a feature. It may not be what we expect but it exists and I don't know why you reported a player when they haven't broken any rules. Gold farming is against the rules; its in the ToS et al., but this? This isn't covered anywhere in the rules; there is no section that states, "if you see a feature that should work differently than you expected, do not under any means use that feature...". Seriously, you've broken the /b/ro code.

    Baskin Robbins always finds out.

Ok, so wait.. Pulling a boss inside an instanced dungeon and watching him respawn nearly instantly is a feature? Cause I'm pretty sure that's a bug.. and using that bug to an advantage IS exploiting. It lists ..here.. (which I'm pretty sure is part of the "rules" you speak of) all about that kind of thing. Almost verbatim to your "if you see a feature that should work differently than you expected, do not under any means use that feature..." hehe.
