4k resolution

I am considering buying a 4k monitor to use with ESO, and I had a question about video cards. I have found a number of video cards that can output 4k resolution at a 60hz refresh rate, but they range from $200 to $700. I don't want to spend more than I need to, but I also want the video card to be able to keep up without maxing itself out. Does anyone knows what the minimum GPU specs are that I would need in order to run ESO at 4k and 60hz? If anyone else is running a similar setup, I would appreciate knowing what you are running and how it is working for you. This is the system I have at the moment is:

4.4ghz AMD 8-core CPU
16GB RAM
4-SSD RAID 5 array for OS/programs
nVidia Quadro K2000D (just what I had on hand)

Thanks,

Andrew

See if I can help you out some... Ill be completely honest with you...as it stands there really isn't any true 4k TV's or monitors than run 60hz while gaming most only d0 30hz...unless you spend 3k$ and get the true 4k asus panel but event then you wont be able to run 60hz yet...

You will also need to spend in the ballpark of 1000$+ for good gpu horse power or youll be regretting getting anything 4k on a medium based gaming rig.

Im not totally sure why folks are jumping to 4k from 720/1080p when the best option is 2560x1440. You can get a nice Qnix that's even overclocks past 96hz for better visuals and color.

1440p is a nice boost over 1080p and requires me to run 2x gtx 770's or a single 780 ti to maintain 60+ fps in most situations with a intel i7 4790

imo this will suit you much better. and the colors will be better as well.
You can also overclock these as they are single input.

I run 1440p at 110hz makes gaming on my eyes a lot easier...and makes 1080p 120hz panels look old lol

I actually found a Samsung monitor that lists a 60hz/1ms response rate.

In looking at the specs on various GPU's, all of the cards even back as far as the GTX 760 are listed as being capable of outputting 4K at 60hz. Is that likely to only apply to video on the older cards then? Obviously gaming is going to require more from the card than video will.

I am currently running the game at 1600x1200 with max graphics on the Quadro K2000D, and the only thing it can't seem to keep up with is the frame rate, but I haven't figured out how to display this in the game yet. Basically, I get a little bit of blur when I am moving (especially when looking to the side), but it has never gotten slow enough to be jumpy. Do you know how to display your frame rate in the game?

You do make a good point about 4k though. I think that if I shot for 1440p and end up with a higher frame rate than I would have had at 4k, it will probably be a better experience.

    Thanks for the input.

I use the asus 32 inch 4k with eso. You really want a flagship gpu, 2 gtx 780 min. which is what I use, run game at full ultra minus ssao. which will change when nvidia gets a sli profile out. There really is no comparison to the raw fidelity of 4k, I own several 1440p panels and it makes them look like garbage.

How many FPS are you getting currently? From what I've seen on systems personally, the game isn't supporting SLI and the frame rate doesn't really change when alternating between using a single card and two cards. In other words, if you're just buying hardware for ESO right now, buying two 780s won't show an improvement over a single card.

SLI does work if configured correctly...also they just added fullscreen si sli is 100% working.
