Dear reader,

since I know you guys are busy I'll try to be as short as possible.
PROBLEM: I cannot login to ESO on my computer, whereas I CAN login with my laptop (same router/acces point to internet).
VERSION (on both computer and laptop): eso.live.1.0.0.962092 2014/04/01 15:33:32 (0.win.0.live.961669)
SYSTEMS: Both systems are identical in that they have same ESO version, launcher says patches are up to date, same server, same firewall, same virus scanner, same internet point.
DIFFERENCE: On computer in loginscreen, ANNOUNCEMENTS: "Could not retrieve announcements".
DIFFERENCE: On computer after attempting login (with correct AND wrong password): Error 201 (7:1:1016:1006).
DIFFERENCE: On laptop I am right now, even after yesterday's patch, able to login and play the game.

ATTEMPTS TO FIX ESO ON COMPUTER:
-Patched game from launcher.
-Repaired the game multiple times.
-Disabled firewall/virus scanner (windows and comodo).
-From forum: tried changing ProgramData in Launcher folder to ProgramDataBackup to force redownload.
-Did a complete uninstall AND complety deleted the gamefolder (in program files) so that I forced the whole download/installation process.

After 4 hours of trying, nothing I did made me able to play the game on the computer.

    PROBLEM:
Found literally 2 minutes after posting. Comodo Internet Security Premium updated on computer. Sandbox mode had been enabled after update (without notice). For some reason this persisted even when Comodo shut down.
    SOLUTION:
    Disabled Sandbox mode in Comodo.

I had the same problem. Adding Eso.exe to Trusted Files worked!

Thanks for this folks. I had the same problem following the Comodo update.

Turns out adding 'ESO' to trusted files manually didn't work for me though.

I had to purge the sandboxed file list, even though it was empty.

When I launched the game again I received a prompt to allow 'ESO' to connect.

Thanks a lot, that helps. I'm really starting to wonder if comodo is worth the trouble though.
