I'd prefer an option to reset only morphs instead of a full respec. Otherwise I think the cost is fine.

    *ESO

I just feel that even if they lower the cost, some might still think that it should be free.

Allowing re-spec of morphs only would be a nice touch though.

Currently it's too much since you have to respec everything in one go, if you want to.

They should increase it not lower it for total re-spec , but that being said I would like an option to repec just one skill point as sometimes you put a point into something that your not really sure you want untill you use it a bit.

Yep, I don't mind if they increase the cost every time I do it.

For players in the very early game, the cost is restrictive. They probably don't really need to respec as they have more points to spend than they really need, but as new players they may not realize that. From level 1 - 6, I'd probably just give free respecs just so you can get a feel for your character. This would help new players. Also, put a respec altar in the starting zones for this purpose.

For late game players, the cost gets a bit ridiculous. I understand that players aren't supposed to respec at a low cost, but that "cost" doesn't have to be strictly in gold. Add a time element to it. Your first respec could be a flat fee of 5000 GP. Your next respec doubles that to 10k, then 20k and so on. However, if you wait for a cooldown time between respecs, the cost goes back down to 5k. So you respec today for 5k. If you wait a month to do it again, it's back down to 5k. If you want to respec daily, you'll be paying the big bucks. If you do it monthly, it's very affordable.

For their part, Zenimax could reset all respec timers when big updates hit, knowing there will be nerfs and buffs that need to be accounted for. Even better they could offer a one time free respec at these times as well so players can get their toons back in line.

By having the respect cost high, it gives the beta players an advantage over others... New players are at a distinct disadvantage as they try to figure the game structure out..

As long as they continue to nerf/ruin skills, state that they will reallocate skill points, and then don't, re-specs should be FREE.

Why not allow morphs to be changed while still on first level, to encourage experimentation?

Why can't we just re-spec specific skills? For example, if you mistakenly try the Provisioning Hireling, only to realize he brings one portion of grasa grapes (at best) once a day, do I really need to spend 10k (or more) to change this? How about if you just make a mistake, because you leveled up in between mobs, and chose the wrong skill? I know they have the confirmation screen, but unless you scroll over their very similar-looking icons to get the skill info again, it could be missed.

It could cost even more, like 500g for a single skill point change, but a smaller sum for the whole lot, like 25g per. Options are always good. And where is this money going anyway? They should be able to carpet the countryside in new cathedrals.

With the classes as broken and imbalanced as they are right now, players need to be able to experiment more. The cost is currently too harsh, especially for characters in the 30-45 range when you really need to be working on your build.

I solemnly disagree with this. It's still in beta.

The last beta however, was over for months now. And you'll most likely re-spec before the cost hits 30k? Doubt that's such a distinct disadvantage.

It's far too prohibitive. 100g per skill point is just a completely arbitrary figure someone came up with. It's not based on what is affordable at what stage of the game.

As far as gold sinks go this one is very effective but it severely limits players, it costs entirely to much to expiriment with skill setups to see what works best for your gameplay style, if they HAVE to keep this as a gold sink, maybe allow for individual skill resets, or skill line resets but have a minimum cost?

I want to respec 1 morph because the morph is simply bugged and provides no benefit. I have to pay 22k for this... seems a bit absurd.

I agree with this, I morphed a few skills at low lvl which I'd like to change now but with the price of a full respec I'm just holding off as it's only 2-3 skills I actually want to change.

The current respec cost is too inhibiting, promotes cookie-cutter builds, and is not in line with the expected industry standard.

I would like to see it reduced, but I would also like to see a "sliding" respec cost. Meaning, it is cheaper at first, then the more you respec, the more expensive it gets (maybe up to the current price max). Then, as you go time without respeccing, the cost drops to some minimum amount (perhaps 1/10th of current).

This is the system WOW uses, and I feel it works well. Respec a lot in a short period = expensive. Reserve respec for when you need it = much cheaper.

    I think it is fair.

My way of thinking is that you should have choices that actually matter, not a I choose this, might be good or maybe not.

I respeced once when I hit vet 1.

I should be required to dump 22k to respec a bugged morph? When the other morph works correctly?

I think the cost is spot on, but the mechanic for using a respec is off-base. We should be able to reset an entire tree individually so that if I want to stop using 2-handed skills and I can reset that weapon skill at the current price, but only have to pay for the points in that one tree.

I'd be willing to pay more per skill even for a system like this over the current one.

    Reduce the cost of respec
Humans make mistakes sometimes, I'd definitely like to change a few skillpoints at a low cost. I don't see how low cost or free respecs negatively impacts anyone else in the game. If you feel like mistakes should be punished, you don't have to respec. If you fear that everyone will just respec to the consensus epic build, they already can, so what's the difference? There can't be any coherent immersion counterargument, because it's already hard to understand how you pay magic rocks to change your skills that were developed through experience, no gold amount makes this realistic or credible. I don't believe we should have to suffer greatly in this game, and people who want suffering from this game can easily have it, just go armorless. I already suffer enough when the game crashes repeatedly and the result is a 1000g armor repair bill that's 100% not my fault. So I think there's enough arbitrary suffering already.

I'd say rather that you need a means to reset specific skills or a specific category instead of having to pay for a full reset when you only want to fix a couple misplaced points or morphs.

outrageous in its current form. no game I've played rapes you this bad - not even skyrim which this is supposed to follow. You can even reset specific skill trees - not the entire point spectrum. why they ignored the systems already in place is beyond reasoning.
