nerfing a perfectly balanced mechanic because ppl cry -.-

Bash... unbuffed 200 dmg. You need around 15 bashs to kill someone who is afk. More than 30 bashs on someone who heals and uses pots. Bash is only hittable on someone who is either stunned or afk. Please explian me how you are supposed to hit bash on someone who is constanlty running away / using bolt escape. Essentaially it's bad against ppl who kite well and good against ppl with 2k life who are too bad to break stuns.

Sure you can get bash dmg to 400+ but its far less on ppl who stack armor. Melee is supposed to do more dmg than range yet bow does more light attack dmg per hit than dual wield and 2hand. Bash was the only good way to play effectifly melee in PvP now you are pretty much forced to play range. It would be ok to nerf dmg of bash by around 10-20% instead of nerfing it into the ground because the most ppl cry about it because they run around with 1500 life getting bashed to death while they are stunned.

So hf killing ppl who kite well with 100 dmg light attacks (if u manage to reach them) :D

    What about the guy with the 40% crit rate bashing away for 600+ a hit? The simple fact is the 1h/s line with bash was outdamaging all other melee lines, think about that, the defensive melee line was out damaging the offensive melee lines.
    What if someone with a 2hander or DW or bow or destro staff had more mitigation and blocked more damage than someone with 1h/s? What if they could be both offensively and defensively supeior to 1h/s? What would be the point of 1h/s then?

    That is what people felt like with bash in its current form. There was no reason not to play 1h/s, no draw back. You did excellent damage from bash with minimal stamina cost while maintaining a 360 block radius and mitigating most hits. There was no trade off. You could hold down block and use all your magica abilities, while the person attacking you kept getting mitigated through your block and with animation cancelling you were dealing 2x to 3x their dps.

    If you didn't see it was broke then you were deaf, dumb and blind.

    Ofc I know its way better than 2hand and dual wield which you would know if you would read my post instead of writing stupid comments. The thing is melee (except bash atm) is severly underpowered in PvP. If 2hand and dual wield would have the same dmg as bash without the + surviveabillity I wouldnt complain about the nerf. As i said without bash 1hand and shield is useless and probably still better than dual wield.

    The problem is melee does less dmg than ranged even tho you have to stay next to a not moving enemy + you need need to aim unlike bow/destro staff.

    want a great example on cry, go to GW2 forums and look at the thief thread. They have been nerfed 12 times..yes 12...and warriors the most OP class sue to insane armor and hp regen still cry about thiefs...just to give a quick understanding fully geared lvl 80s. war=23-34k HP 3500-4000 armor 2500dmg Thief=11k hp 1500 armor 2100 dmg ....and we still manage to kick their butts because they let us get behind them for a back stab -_-. So yea no matter how many nerfs people will cry about anything other then their inability to play their class properly

    Learn to play a sword and shield build that does not rely on bash.
    How many people who complain about the nerf use any skill more than bash? (Remembering that bash is an interrupt and not really a DPS skill - the other half is a block - ideal for tanks)
    All this latest fix does is reward you for using bash as intended
    Sure hide behind your shield - I do - but I have a few other tricks up my sleeve that people don't expect. Burning Embers can be effective for a DK.
    Tanking is all about timing. In both PvE and PvP.
    Tanks shouldn't be the main Source of Boss DPS in group content either, however currently my Vr-10 DK tank can pull some of the highest sustainable ( not burst) DPS numbers in the game ( while tanking a boss at the same time ) because of the way the bash mechanic is set up. Sure I am guilty of taking advantage - but I am not sad to see this change.

    Levelled a basher, ended up a caster at VR, even prior to bash nerf. Absolutely no reason to go melee whatsoever.

    How can people still be so stupid when people have shown numbers as to how bashing was OP. It cost less stamina yet did more damage than your actual weapon attacks. It cancelled animations allowing you to use moves AND bash basically at the same time. I would sometimes have 5-6 numbers fly off a mob spamming my skills, light attacks and bash where somehow they would all hit at the exact same time multiple times. It allowed you to mitigate dmg at the same time as attacking, including blocking CC. I used bash myself and I know how OP it was but it was the fastest way to blow someone up as a NB since half our junk is broken.

    So the fact you even think it couldn't be used on anyone who wasn't AFK is completely idiotic because why the heck didn't you snare/root the thing thats running? Bolt escape is a totally different issue but it wasn't hard to bash spam anyone besides a bolter or mist former.

    I guess some people are just too dumb to understand what balance is actually supposed to be like. 5 of my skills do 250 dmg and the one I don't need to slot does 300 and costs less and can be done even faster and "buffs me" to take 50% less dmg... totally balanced....

    If your main gripe is about melee underperforming in PvP then thats a valid complaint. Melee always has and probably always will underperform when the numbers reach a certain point due to ranged having no travel time and the ability to focus fire and the range as a defense vs a melee who has alot of downtime between targets and even on the target due to roots/snares etc.. But don't come on here whining that they fixed an ability that was broken. That just makes you look stupid and you lose all credibility.

    Apparently it is okay for a NB to insta jib a player from stealth or okay for a Sorc to be unkillable clowns zapping around the battlefield but a SINGLE target attack in MELEE (shield bash) is overpowered?

    The nerf to shield bash needs to removed.

    I have a redquard/templar with sword & shield of course! Bash was my only effective "weapon" in close range fights when my magic was low cause sword damage is a...jok
    Am not a highelf OP templar and am V8....shall i start over? delete my character or what?
    So stop "JUDGING" others because you play OP characters! I just wanna see what some of you will say when they nerf "your" characters

    Maybe instead of complaining about shield bash nerf you should be asking for the other melee skill lines to be buffed. Shield bashing was obviously overpowered and it also didn't make any sense; how on earth is a shield more dangerous than a sword?

    The nerf was perfectly handled, now they just need to bring 2h, DW and Bow to the same level as destro staff. That's the only real balancing needed in the game, no class needs to be nerfed.

    This is what i see when i read this.

    I suck at this game. I relied on a broken mechanic as a crutch to be competitive. My ego inflated massively due to this, and now i am where i should be, realisation dawns that i actually suck and i can't take it.

    Simple answer. Learn to play.

    I kill lots of people as 1H/shield, specced into stam and health. Without using bash, and never used bash since the game launched except for interrupts. Bash was an exploit. Its been fixed, welcome back to the average pile along with all the bat swarm pvpers that now suck like they should have in the beginning too.

    Its funny now that ALL other skills have OP deadly perks
    Well am not going to reset everything since my player and my game play was based on stamina skills
    Its just boring for me to learn a new game play and balance my player at V8 level again
    I really wonder how some of you would react if they had nerf your skill line and force you to learn a new game play etc....so....be carefull what you post maybe they will do it in future patches

    Whats done is done, next in line to get a nerf is siphon strikes, people start crying about that now.
    Yes its one of the best skills in game, is it gamebreaking unbalanced ? It isnt, it has to proc for the big restore hit and it only has a 10% chance proc, i mean you can crit more often then this. And the little restore on normal attacks is very low. its helpfull, nothing more. And i do agree, thx to that skill i can be unworried about resources, only when you dont get a proc in time a potion is needed.
    But im sure it will get nerfed just because of people crying for it as all other classes dont have this kind of resource manager skill.
    People seem to forget the skill comes with a major debuff on damage, so you are paying for the seemingly endless resources.
    The only instance it becomes OP is for healers in groups, NB healers dont run out of magicka while spamming heals, templars do, as it doesnt affect healed amount.

    its not comparable to bash, which WAS broken, but this thread is about nerfing things that are working fine.
    And wouldnt be surprised if siphoning strikes is next in line to get a nerf because of the hate for it.
    Well future will tell and sure do hope to be wrong, i love the skill and have it on all the time even on full resources at the start of combat.

    When the nerf something in a skill line they should increase somethig else to balance it now S/S line is completely ineffective compering to all other skills

    Personally i wont become ESO analysts or scientists or expert of all things...just to play a.....game....i dont care and i dont give a ... about all that damage "analysis"

    I managed to have a nicely balanced character which was never OP even with the previous the bash damage comparing to others anyways!

    We are not all 12y old to bust our...nerves for a game

    I would be fine with turning the passive ability that improved Bash into a passive that provided the benefit of blocking automatically and passive immunity to CC so that we can use our other attacks.

    Pretty sure that bash doesnt crit. I was using it from VR2-4 and had combat cloud and never saw it crit. I only had 4% or so crit, but still would have seen it crit at some point.

    It wasn't broken the dmg of bash was intended why you think they make deadly bash passive and bash dmg glyphs?. In beta it wasn't nerfed because everyone was low lvl there and bash did low dmg. Since the game is out many fights are lvl 10-40s vs vets so the low lvls get crushed by bash and whine.

    I haven't seen any good player with 3.1k+ life who plays ranged who cried about bash. As a sorc with bolt escape pots and resto staff on second bar you can kite as hell + u have a life pool of 5k even more as a dk or templar with better heals.

    Melee weapons across the board need a buff in damage. And two handed weapons should ALWAYS have better damage and enchants to make equal to dual wield or sword and board.

    The common mistake MMO does when a class is OP, is to buff everything else. Might sound easy, but totaly forget that the world is created around the current balance. If buff everything, you have WoW lvl 1-85. You can naked, solo anything up to that point.

    For the record, I use 1H and shield all the time and bash works just like intended. I really have to time my interupt, but when it hits, it doesnt a good damage + stuns my target.

    Also, 1H and shield isnt suppose to be as good damage as a mage blasting fire, is it?
