In Stros Mkai, it's a rare fish. I've yet to catch one. I'm wondering if anyone has, or it's impossible.

What I have caught while fishing for it is a rare occurance where I will "catch" nothing. When I get a bite and press E, it goes straight back to the cast prompt, which it never should, because the game gives you the trash item 'used bait' when you catch nothing.

I'm wondering if the times where I don't even catch 'used bait' on a bite are times where I should be getting the rare fish. I have almost all the rare fish from Glenumbra, I know how rare it's supposed to be. But, I'm just not catching the fish, is anyone?

    I have caught 3 different rare fish in 3 different areas and never once got the achievement. Kind of put me of doing it until they get it fixed.
    Who has time? But if we never take time how can we ever have time?

    Only the 3 starter islands have just one rare fish, the other areas have 12 required for the achievement.

    The starter island achievements for fishing are currently bugged. Honestly I'm not messing with trying to catch anything there until after patch 1.1 which is suppose to include fishing fixes.

    Outside of the starter islands, you can "catch" rare fish in the sense that when you do they will (for the most part) show up as caught for the achievement, however I've heard from various people that the last fish of the 12 will end up getting you no credit, and thus no achievement. The rare fish never show up in your inventory at this time.

    Tonight I went fishing in Stros Mkai hoping the patch actually fixed this fish.

    Around 380 Worms later I have..

    25 wet gunny sacks
    3 used bait
    35 minnow
    141 longfin
    143 dhufish

    The other ~30 times gave me nothing, just sent me back to the cast prompt.

    I was fishing for the most part with two other players, none of us caught it, and we all experienced times where we caught nothing at all.

    I don't know what exactly the patch fixed, but I'm yet again giving up on fishing in Stros Mkai. :(
