Oh god not the AH thread again .. NO
Use one of the upto 5 Guilds you can be in or General Chat if they don't have what your looking for.
Another option is try the forums that have set up their own Trade forum. I'm nor really big on the forums for ESO but I bet if you look you'll find more than a few.

I don't know what your guild situation looks like but people stopped logging on in mine and the guild stores are more worthless then they were before. I don't want to be forced to change guilds every other day until I find an active one. Not to mention the guild store interface is horrible. They could add a search feature at least?Oh god not the AH thread again .. NO

I feel the same -- I do not want to talk some UI screen trade goods! I like the fact that we talk to "real" people to trade -- and some cases, we will make "friends" doing so!

I prefer options. People should have options. Not everyone is super social and need all that interaction to buy an item.Would you rather go to a RL store (like a car dealership, computer tech store, house repairs handy man, etc) and order everything from a vendor machine or talk with a sales clerk about a product?
AH is just a vendor machine.

Not really, To get mats a the person who is requesting must hunt or buy form a real person (interaction #1) then the person must have an item made (by the same or a different person) (Interaction 2)
Depends on the crafting and want the person want done, he or she must interact with more crafter to improve the item even more (Interaction 3)
Mean while, must get mats some how, may be interaction 4
With an AH, the interaction is cut way way down. Also, Less with interaction means less chance meeting new people and make new friends. Less friends means less reason to stay with ESO, Less means ESO might die. Therefore, AH is not good for good for games in the long run. Yes, games do stay around a long time with an AH, but games could be better if there were more players interacting with players instead some heartless UI window called an AH.

You are completely wrong...an AH is a market that provides a great deal of information to its users, when done right. It provides pricing info, sales info, and can provide historic info. You can see how prices have moved, how many have sold, etc.
I would MUCH rather shop online, like at a newegg, or amazon, where I can read reviews and comparatively price items SO I KNOW IM NOT GETTING RIPPED OFF. I guarantee you go into car dealership or small computer store and you are more likely to get ripped off if you are not knowledgeable. Your desire for personal interaction is WHAT GUILDS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR...not some half arsed markets. I have no desire to pay a handy salesclerk's commission...that is a poor excuse for you NOT doing your homework and not knowing anything about what you are shopping for....and how many handy salesclerks are out there anyway???
Your thinking is all wrong, when you put the goods in the context of digital items in an MMO.

An AH isn't going to ruin open trade. Guild stores are going out of business and have missing features that makes using them painful.
An example of how open trade won't be hurt by and AH is look at all the other MMO's that have an AH. People will still need to ask in chat for certain items AND people will still sell items in chat. People that want the option to use the AH will have what they want.
It's a WIN WIN situation.

Go to the bank, click on the banker, go to [Guild Store]. You have up to 5 different ones to choose from.
All those bots you see that start to run below the ground and then mine the ore etc .. THATS what will fill this AH you guys want.

I also hate to think of what I might be missing if I were in a different trade guild; as well as the fact that I've had two trade guild shrivel up and die, leaving me back in the search for another.
Therefore, I would like to see an Auction House.

How will this be different than what we have now? Yes, bots may list in AH. They will be more easily discovered there.
I will still be able to sell there, so the bots won't be "filling" anything up.

I've tried to make this very same point in many of my posts. Because adding an auction house make it easier to identify bots because their activities would be publicized on the market boards.

Its not just that...once a bot is identified, they can run a script automatically cancelling any auctions from the bot and confiscating the goods. This would basically add another layer of bot destruction/disincentives in the game and work to shield players from them...centralizing the economic activity should make it easier to monitor and manage.

Or they could fix the billing making it harder to use stolen credit cards. They could also make it much harder for bots to get out of the tutorial and skip to zones like coldharbour.
At that point you'd only have the dedicated bots and not the army. Personally I don't think they have the know how or they would have added an auction house in the first place.
Coming from a game like EVE it just seems so backwards not having some form of region based marketplace. The constant WTB/WTS in chat is annoying and clogs up any real chatting that is actually going on.
Personally, I would like to see something like what was quoted above, but in order to access it you have to spend skill points and each rank allows you to sell more items. Instead of just making it a way to make coin, actually make it into a profession - like smithing, etc. If you make it only available after level 10 or so, it could drastically reduce the chances of the 'bot army' listing anything.

Let the players choose - which is what Zenimax claimed we were all going to be able to do in this game - implement an AH and see which survives 6 months, the guild store or AH
