So another Rylana thread, how you doing? Anyway, this is of course not targeted at our real generals out there, the ones that sit in teamspeak and shotcall for organized groups, etc.

This is to the zone chat goofs and other hotheads.

You are not a pro, you have no idea what youre doing, you are not good at making groups or forming a cohesive unit, zergs are stupid =D

Shut up. They have alts in the zone chat. Get on TS, a private group channel, something or another and stop trying to be Alexander the Great(fail) with your epic babble skills.

Chances are if you are one of these guys, you are level 22 and a nightblade trying to solo a keep you just happened to pick up from the warfront board.

We all know it, some fall for it, but man youre annoying =D

Get on TS, dont make excuses, play your role, and learn that you have no idea how PvP works =D

Anyone can be a general, anyone cant call out enemy locs in zone chat.

As a PVP commander i appreciate everyone's input. If they are spouting bad tactics and decisions in zone chat I just whisper them and reason with them through logic.

Alts in zone chat are less of a problem in low pop campaigns, So maybe i can only speak from a low pop campaign perspective.

But spouting things out in zone can be counter productive due to spies.

I think the factor you're forgetting about is the horde of casual players who don't use TS. Of course TS is more effective, but that also leaves potentially a very large portion of your teammates out of the loop.

Maybe you should be inviting every person in the zone to your TS if you want this activity to stop. Or you could point out that someone is calling out stupid tactics. Or if you don't care what the zerg is doing but don't want it announced to spies either, suggest to them that they get into groups and communicate through /g and /w. It's unrealistic to assume that an entire alliance is going to stop using /z or that they can get by better somehow with no one attempting to give direction. Bad leaders are eventually recognized, but some people who utilize /z to communicate to all the players who will never use TS can actually be helpful. Those helpful ones can only be discovered if they're randomly trying to do it, though.

I have no problems with people calling out enemy movements or such information in zone chat, as sometimes it's useful, like when the enemy is ninja-capping a keep behind our lines or cutting off a keep's resources and most people don't notice.
If someone's spouting nonesense or bad tactics in zone chat, add them to your ignore list and move on.

every time i look at zone chat in cryodiil i see your type of commands and orders and basicly that you are good and every one else that is not on your team speak and or guild is garbage and trash. it's becoming a bit annoying and i think should be looked at by zenimax staff.

i have my own guild and we have our own ventrillo for team speak. we dont want another guild and dont want multiple team speak chat programs. and we certanly dont want to be told how to play and that we are bad on a dailly basis.

Most people don't run around in awesome, coordinated guild group. Keeping the rest of the population informed means you'll get a steady stream of reinforcements. You might not like it, but zerging is still the best option for players who are not part of a PvP group.

You do realize that ungrouped/ungilded and generally radom players have all the rights to join Cyrodiil and have their share of PvP, right? You do realize that these people greatly appreciate any initiative made to increase their awareness/involve them in the collective war efforts or simply communicating with anyone from their faction, right? So please, explain to me what right you have to dictate how should they play or behave.
Also, I am quite interested in what message, written in zone chat, is so important that can make any difference if known to the enemy.
"Defend x keep!", "retake the scroll!", "x keep under attack!". Oh, I am sure these all represent immensely valuable knowledge to the enemy.

Oh ive seen plenty of occasions where some noob in zone puts together a pointless zerg to take some keep off in lala land that has no strategic significance, doesnt even serve as a distraction tactic, and splits the alliance down the middle while the real fight happens vs a superior force at a keep that is in the chain for every transitus (usually alessia or one of the outposts) past it.

Loss by pure stupidity in that case. Cant always stop a zerg with 15-20. Sometimes a little cannon fodder or whatnot actually does help.
