Guy and Gals. Please let us second class EU citizens /joke, know if the True Full Screen addition increases your performance as I'm too impatient to wait about another silly amount of time to see it myself

my prime time is 4am until about 7am and that's when the server will be down. Out of interest, how long did the downtime last?

Edit: I get about 70Mbps on BT Infinity (UK). How big are the patches?

About 6-6.5 hours mate. The time was well spent saying inappropriate things, drinking too much and playing some Rammstein on the guitar.

So is this patch supposed to be 28 gigs or is the patcher re-downloading the entire game?

Um, are you sure it's 28 gb and not 2.8? The latter is about the size of the first download for the patch.

Edit: or are you sure you're not looking at the patch being applied rather than downloaded? That would be about 28 gigs that it's applied to.

1.2mB here but when I check with my ISP I get 9.9mB. So im thinking its crap between me and ESO not my ISP.. Or am I wrong?

Ouch! Its probably strain on their server. Try restarting it as that usually speeds it up. Also if using WiFi, try running off of a wired connection.

I'm in a rural area of Indonesia that has neither McD nor 7-11. It's downloading at 350kB/s, decent enough.

I live in a small town in NM that hasnt even gotten fiber-optic cables yet... even on good days my transfer rate is only about 120k/sec

going today to switch my cell coverage.... then I will be able to tether through my iphone with unlimited data on 3g minimum...

I'm also from NM. I thought I might be the only person in the state playing. I'm so glad I'm not.

Yeah, that's applying the patch, not downloading it. That's the stage where it takes what it has downloaded and applies it to the game.

Last I checked, the game stood at 30.9GB. So if its 2.8, and its usually compressed some, then I bet it will easily be 34GB by the end of patching.

Mine did the same thing... it's applying 28 gigs worth of patch. I downloaded like 2 gigs of patch and it applied 28 gigs. At least it's not downloading 28 gigs. =p

No, it's not applying 28 gigs of patch - it's applying the patch to 28 gigs of ESO already installed on your computer.

I would restart it in about a hour if it don't improve. Once more get the patch, the strain should be less and your speed should increase. You would think that on major patch day, they would give their hampsters extra cookies!

I'm just saying that's how the patcher seems to portray it. It says applying patch and says there's 28 gigs left.

Ok.. mine was 1.20mB then it went to 66.65mB so its all over the damn place. At this point Im thinking that the numbers are just something to look at and tell you that something IS happening. Its not really an accurate account of anything, other than yes, its downloading. GRR damn computers....

If it suddenly jumped from 1.2 to 66.65 then I'm pretty sure that it just switched from "downloading" to "applying".
