    Welcome to Tamriel! :D

Well, make sure you do the tutorial islands, even though they are optional (after you do the first tutorial zone, you will be in a city and they will tell you that you should seek out a captain, ignore everything else and go there, go to the starter island).

Make sure you do all quests and check the skills and passives in advance. The amount might be overwhelming but don`t worry, you should have around 300 till you "finish" the game, so a plenty for everything.

Don`t be afraid to mix unusal combinations like mages in heavy armor, templars using bows, etc. They are working!

Explore, especially later on several quests are easy to be missed if you just stick to the roads. You might want to look for addons to make it easier to get used to it, but I do recommend trying this minimalist UI, it is fun! But some addons are useful, look around at esoui.com

This might be a bit odd tip, but if you wish to play any race in any faction, I think you can still buy Explorer`s Pack bonus for around 2-3 euros on certain (legal) websites,

Lastly, you can join 5 guilds, due to the lack of AH, make sure you have 1 or 2 trading guilds if you miss the AH functionality. (you can talk in them with /g1 /g2 etc.) Also, you can find people there to help.

If you are on EU server, feel free to add me @Csubi90 (am in EP faction but we can stilll communicate if you are not). If you are on the NA server, I am still sure others can help!

    And have fun!

This game is tougher. You have to make choices. The quests usually follow. No matter what faction you choose, the prophet talks to you after the starter area (coldharbour) and tells you to go help people you meet in between the jobs he has for you. After checking every drawers, libraries, etc in the house/boat/area you appear in, talk to the first quest giver you see. They will say this area needs help. I know it's weird but go talk to the NPC who rescued you to help them. It will send you to another area which has the starter quests. Follow those quests and it will take you to another area eventually, then back to the area that you started in.

Here is an example. If you choose Ebon, you do Coldharbour as a starter area. Once you ''escape'' that area, you will be ported to a house that is in Davon's watch (a major city in Stonefalls). If you leave the city, there is a man by the fountain. He has a black arrow on top of his head indicating that he has a quest. He will tell you about who rescued you, etc. You go find the Nord lady who rescued you at the dock areas. She will say ''Oh no problem for saving you blah blah blah...Bleakrock needs your help'' (Bleakrock is the area she's from). Well you want to go there. It will have quests for your level. You do the Bleakrock quests which will take you to another are called Bal Foyen. From Bal Foyen, you will head back to Stonefalls (the area in which Davon's Watch is in). You do the quests there. Then you will move on to a higher area. Just doing this should take you days if you're not used to it. The quests are a lot like WoW or every other MMO in the sense that you kill stuff, you deliver stuff, help people with their tasks, etc.

Now take note as this is an important part. There is main quests which will be given by the prophet. Visit Davon's watch (or your major starter city depending on which faction you chose) every 5 levels or so...He wants you to go meet him somewhere (his little cave) and do a main task for the main story which if you did the starter area once (you have to) and listened to the dialogues, you know is about Molag Bal the evil Daedric lord trying to bring Tamriel closer to his realm so he can basically own us all. You find out more about that story from doing tasks from the prophet and it's fairly interesting. You find out things that you likely didn't guess happened. OK a lot are able to guess it but I found it fairly interesting nonetheless.

Now, remember when I told you that you should go find the person that rescued you after you pop up in the real world, well there is something you should do a bit before. In Davon's Watch or whatever city you popped into, you should go and become a member of 3 different guilds. They are not guilds like with your peers where you can chat. Think of them as factions. They are called the mages guild (found in the mages tower), the fighters guild (found in the fighters tower) and the Undaunted (found in a bar drinking-in Davon's watch, they are at the bar by the docks).

The reason to join those is that they give you special skills as you level. Press K and you can see all the skills that you can buy. You will see Mage's guild, Fighter's guild and Undaunted. You will be able to buy perks from those skill trees as you level them (not as you level like level 3-4-5) but as you do specific things for these guilds. For the Undaunted, it will be to do their quests (usually to do a dungeon). For the mages guild, it will be to fight X number of specific mobs that are Daedra's and undead and to do their quests. For the Mage's guild, it's to find specific lore books. The reason why I say to join them before going to Bleakrock is to find the Lore Books in that area without needing to go back after joining the mage's guild. If you need help, there are addons at esoui.com and one of them is called lorebooks. It will show you their location in every single map. As you gather books, your skill will grow with the mage's guild and they offer more quests and more of their perks become available. It works that way with the 3 guilds really. They level up SLOOOOW. So don't worry if it feels like it takes forever.

Skyshards are another important thing. They are the same thing that let you escape Coldharbour bringing you back to life. Each 3 pieces of Skyshard you find means one skill point (in K) that you can spend. So you want to find them. The more skills=the better. There is also an addon at esoui.com that shows you where each are located on the map. The addon is called Skyshards I think.

As for creating your character, play whatever you'd like. I reccomend spending your first points in your character skills under K. Don't worry, it's not set in stone. You can redo them if you feel that you messed up (a bit later in the game and it costs some gold to do).

I hope this synopsis of the game helps you. I know it's long but there is a lot to describe. I'll put a TL;DR for Ebon Faction at the bottom of this

    1) You do Coldharbour as starter area
    2) You pop up in a house in Davon's Watch (big city in Stonefalls)
    3) Go join the Undaunted, the Mage's guild and the Fighter's guild
    4) NPC by the fountain by the house where you popped up has a quest to talk to another NPC who helped rescue you. It's a Nord Lady by the docks (close to the bar where the Undaunted were and it's the only docks on the map in the city)
    5) Talk to Nord lady. She wants help in Bleakrock. Accept and go do quests in Bleakrock
    6) You go to Bal Foyen automatically after doing Bleakrock quests
    7) Do quests in Bal Foyen and that Argonian village in Bal Foyen.
    8) Go back to Stonefalls (the area in which Davon's watch is)
    9) Go do quests in Davon's Watch
    10) Do quests in Stonefield
    11) You're on to another area. Keep doing quests
    12) Skyshards and Lorebooks are important.
