Character appearance templates on creation screen - discussion

People keep discussing "apperance change". While I do think this is something that would be beneficial (eventually)...there is something else I would like to see added to the game first.

I think we need the ability to create/save "templates" in the character creation screen (say with a new option, "create template"). Basically, you pick a race (but not a class), then fiddle with it until it looks the way you want. Then you save it as a "template". Then when you create a character, you pick a race/class, then you can pick the appearance from a drop-down of "templates" you have created previously. Templates would be specific to the race they were created on, for obvious reasons, but you should be able to create as many as you want. Also, if you want to load up a template, change it, then save it again, you should be able to do this as well.

I also think it would be better if these templates were saved locally, and were shareable. You could share them as small files, or even better, as a simple string of letters/numbers (which is probably how the game stores appearance anyway). "Hey, check out this neat looking Argonian I made". Drop it in your template directory much like an addon, and the game will pick it up and let you use it.

I thought I had a good idea here. No interest?

I'd love to see this. Resorted to screenshotting the slider positions on my favorite beta character so I could play them again after release, but presets/templates would be so much better.

Yes, I used this feature in EQ2 all the time. So I could save inbetween and go back to the saved state if I wasn't happy with the latest changes I made.
