My 2nd and last discussion for the day.

After level 14 you can no longer make level-gear with the tier 1 hide. However you can also not find and tier 2 hide (or any other tier 2 mats) in stonefalls.

I reached Deshaan at level 20, so I have had to go 6 levels in under-level crafted gear.

Once I finally got to Deshaan, I spent a few hours farming for tier 2 hides, wood and ore.

Well now I am 3/4 of the way through level 20 (I didn't complete quests only killed mobs that drop hides) and have only gathered enough hide to make 4 pieces of level 20 gear.

It is ridiculous! Towards the end of Stonefalls and any first major zone, tier 2 mats need to start appearing.

Hides should drop way more often, it should not cost my 3/4 of a level killing only mobs that drop hide, to get around 60-70 bits of rawhide. By the time I have collected enough mats to craft my armour, I am the next level up and I need to start the whole process again.

This is NOT an issue for me with any other gear craft. Enchanting needs sorting, but I see that in the 1.1 patch notes.

Please Zeni, put more tier two nodes in the latter stages of the first main areas. All zones should have a mixture to be honest to make the crafting from tier 1 to tier 2 a bit smoother. Also make hides drop 100% of the time.

I can get 300 Jute, to 250 wood, to 250 iron, to 50 hide. It is so unbalanced.

Er, well, you could have gone into Deshaan before level 20 and farmed a bit for crafting needs, even if you weren't ready to quest there. It's what I would have done rather than run around in poor gear.

Although I don't disagree with the idea of tier two nodes appearing in the advanced stages of the main zones, at all.

I did, for a bit at level 17. But my level was racing up so much I decided to halt and come back later once I'd finished with Stonefalls.

Point is, that to get hides you need to kill mobs, and to get tier 2 hides you need to kill a lot of high level mobs. Seeing as tier two kicks in at level 16, then the hides should start dropping off level 15 + mobs. Deshaan mobs are level 17 from what I saw.

At level 17 I killed only a few, but my xp bar raced upwards and I only got a handful of hide scraps for my effort.

Point is, they need to change hide drops. Because farming it means you just level up and out level content etc... It is why I am level 20 and only just entering Deshaan. because I spent so long on the starter islands farming hides from wolves, and then mudcrabs in Stonefalls.

Crafting in early game is mostly pointless. The game is pretty easy, and you get good enough gear from quests/drops. In addition, you can level up crafting by just deconstructing

I like to keep on top of my gear as I level up. For me crafting is a massive part of any MMO.
