Nightblade - 2H + Haste + Siphoning Strikes + Momentum build?

anya.backstromeb17_ESO
anya.backstromeb17_ESO
Soul Shriven
Would this be a viable combo?

Im aiming to buff my basic weapon attacks as much as possible while still having som substain and survivability.

My main build would look something like this:

Armor: 5 Heavy, 2 light.
Weapon: 2H Sword

1. Killer’s Blade / Assassin’s Blade
2. Invigorating Drain
3. Focused Attacks
4. Rally
5. Leeching Strikes

U. Devouring Swarm

Any tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

You lose a lot of damage on your basic attacks from leeching strikes, your abilities lose 10% but your basic attacks lose 20%...

If you really want a melee with sustain you can just make a Sorc with Crit Surge....

True but since i want to use Heavy armor and not medium, my critical rating would be too low for critical surge to be useful.

Depends, is it your boss killer setup or general PvE?

In 1st case I would add a stun, like Wrecking blow, since the Drain is very bad choice for bosses

In 2nd case you totally lack AoE and you need it as you will often be facing packs of 3 enemies (in VR content, its not a joke). Im not expert in NB skills, but Cleave with Brawler morph does wonders for me combined with my class AoE, splash dmg from 2h passives works ok as well till you hit VR

As far as your damage go, it will never be sky high and you must know it since you chose the heavy armor. Try slamming enchants that increase phys. dmg. on your jewelery, people are often unaware of that

Shadow cloak can be morphed to give you a 100% crit strike (and a LOT of armor bonus with the right passive).
Uppercut can be morphed so that "Your next attack against enemy deals extra damage" (not sure about numbers).
Dawnbreaker can be morphed to give you 13% more weapon damage.
The night's mother set will debuff 20% of your target's armor after a crit hit (see shadow cloak morph).

It's really quite simple. Siphoning Strikes nerfs your DPS by a quarter. You lack crit.

This build will be ineffective in terms of damage. You can sustain as much as you like, without a spike damager in rotation your fights will take far too long and damage is too low to be of any influence.

Either focus crit or focus strong base hit + effects to disable. Only critbased builds kill fast enough really, especially if you hit VR content because the health bars are considerably longer there.

Basically I would say any Killer's Blade build must focus on getting you to use that skill as soon as possible. In other words; how do I burst down an enemy to 25% of their HP so you can hit Killer's Blade and move on. Crit + Stealthed first hit is the key here, or continuous disablers in the shape of Draining Shot or something.

Another thing: start wearing medium/light armor. Heavy is just about worthless in terms of passive bonuses. Weapon crit builds go 5 Medium / 2 Light, magicka-based builds go 5 Light/2 any.

Generally speaking im not aware of the Meta back in 2014 but you cant really build for Light/Heavy attacks in the game anymore.
if youre trying to play a heavyblade though then u should try going Dual wield + 2h(backbar) with Forward momentum instead of rally for a viable snare removal.
Also your frontbar would look something like: Rending slashes, Surprise attack, Relentless focus, Mass hysteria, vigor, Incap
