There NEEDS to be more Housing Options in cities

Like the selection is isn't there, man. Each city needs MULTIPLE houses, 2 or 3 of small/apartment style, 2 or 3 of medium, and 1 or 2 of larger square footage type places. Not like as big as what you'd find out in the country of course because of the setting of it being a city but you get what I mean.

Lets review some examples.
- Alinor. The crowing capital gleaming jewel city of the High Elves. In the lore, literally 10's of thousands of people would live here. One house to choose from.
- Wayrest. Regional capital, one of the largest cities in the Daggerfall Covenant. One house.
- Daggerfall city. The actual capital. One house.

I could go and list every single city in the game like this, it would be worth it because you get my point.

If you want to live in any of these places, you only have 1 choice... And if you don't like that choice, the layout, the style, or whatever other factor - you're out of luck. Like there's just plain flat out not enough variety. More options are needed.

I may have gotten it backwards with Wayrest/Daggerfall because the king resides in Wayrest, whatever, whichever one is the capital it doesn't matter.

No there does not need to be more housing in ESO. There is already too much and it's a distraction from the actual game. ZOS is on a limited staff now days and if they put time into housing it's time not being spent on the actual game.

There’s also multiple zones that only have crown store houses. Murkmire for example. We need another house there.

I think the problem is in general with ESO that the cities are too small, this makes sense for an MMO from 2014. I haven't played anything past Summerset so I can't say if the cities get bigger, I'm guessing not. But big cities feel like small towns, which in return makes small towns feel like villages, so if they did go back and add more stuff, it would make the city feel too crowded and too small

The first house most players get is a room at an Inn, I think this could work, add a new location to every inn in a major city, and make the character pay a weekly amount (Say, 5k-10k gold for "upkeep") this can be a gold sink for players with a lot of gold, a bit immersive, and allow you to have more housing options

I wouldnt mind there being more choices for player houses that are not locked behind FOMO or crowns. But ONLY if they use the houses in cities that you already cannot access. There are way too many of those imo. I don't want any houses that people can use to steal from, turning into player homes.

I would love to have more townhouses near wayshrines. Most zones have an inn room near a wayshrine but those are often awkward to get to and from, requiring going up and down narrow stairs and twisty corridors.

More, smaller houses purchased with gold in cities would be nice. Orsinium doesn’t have one, I don’t think Shornhelm in Rivenspire does either. I don’t think Lilmoth has one.

They could even be right outside the city if there isn’t room.

Housing is as much a part of the "actual game" as anything else, I don't know why you think it's not just because you don't like it or engage with it.

    - Wayrest. Regional capital, one of the largest cities in the Daggerfall Covenant. One house.
    - Daggerfall city. The actual capital. One house.
    • Alinor has two; an inn room by the stables and the Alinor crest Townhome near the wayshrine and merchants.
    • Wayrest has one (Gardner House), which isn't really convenient to anything except the Master Writ merchants and the Dro-dara Pantation wayshrine (sort of)
    • Daggerfall has three: an inn room (free to DC characters), Captain Margaux's place, and Daggerfall Overlook. Daggerfall Overlook is what you might call a "stretch goal" since it isn't purchasable for gold (and unfurnished) until you've completed ~250 quests throughout the main Covenant zones or you've stretched your wallet open to buy it with crowns, which bypasses that requirement and offers a "furnished" option.

I agree, however that every major town should have something which is reasonably close to the town's wayshrine. Most towns do, but there are a few which don't. I don't see much point in having a house themed to a particular race in an allianace zone where that race isn't especially prevalent, though. Jode's Embrace, for example, would fit well in Reaper's March, Northern Elsweyr (where it is), Southern Elseweyr, Khenarthi's Roost, and maybe Malabal Tor. Not so much in Eastmarch, The Rift, or Western Skyrim. You could maybe make Earthenroot Enclave fit in the boonies of Glenumbra or (maybe) Stormhaven or Rivenspire, but it fits better in High Isle (where it is) and would work well in Galen, too.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Housing has been a part of the Elder Scrolls series since Daggerfall, with every mainline game having some form of player housing. Elder Scrolls Online was always going to have housing, and will continue to have it as part of the game. People getting mad about housing is ridiculous honestly.

That being said, I fully agree that there should be more small and medium style homes. Theres wayyy too many crown only stores, and wayyy too many mini zone homes as well.

I agree with the opinion that every major city should have at least an inn room available for gold for convenient travel. The lack in Wrothgar's Orsinium and Rivenspire's Shornhelm are probably the most irritating in my own experience. At minimum there should be one house available for gold in each zone: Hew's Bane, Gold Coast, Southern Elsweyr, ...

There just needs to be less FOMO-focused housing options. The vast majority of them are either event related or store exclusives. This is one of those areas where people flag the lacking rewards. They go out of their way to make things like Tomes and whatever, instead of just putting stuff in the game. Letting me walk up to the house, and buy it with gold. Imagine.

I also totally agree we need more of the Staple Homes, I too made a Suggestion on the boards about it. Practically every House that we've gotten over the last several years, barring the Apartments Zone releases were bringing, have been Notable. We've gotten VERY few Staple Houses and it would be really nice if we had more that could be bought with Gold and don't need to be earned or are CS exclusive.

There ARE a number of Houses that are available in the CS all the time and can be bought for Gold, but many of them require achieves for that option if you don't want to spend the Crowns. I wish we could just buy them outright instead of needing to jump through hoops, but eh.

They really should offer CS exclusive Houses for a gold equivalent though. Make it super super exorbitant, 10m gold or something. A lot of people would still prefer to swipe their cards to get the Houses without work but it would give other people a chance to get them with Gold too. Because then at least those people are going to spend time decorating that House and maybe even buying stuff from the Housing CS that they wouldn't be doing if they couldn't buy the House at all.

I'll have to go with "meh" on this one. There are no Crown Store houses that do not come back eventually. You might need to wait two or three years for them to return, but they do. I've been waiting on Jode's Embrace for several years. Its previous appearance was after I threw in the towel on waiting for it and bought something else with the crowns I had earmarked for it. It's due back tomorrow (8/27) and if ZOS doesn't have that crown sale before the 10th when it goes away, then it goes back into wait mode. Seriously, ZOS, I'm patiently waiting to throw money in your direction and all you need to do is have that crown sale that didn't happen during Quakecon before the house I want disappears again.

The houses which could be earned in-game are a different matter. I think all of them are now available between the Event Merchant's Assistant and the Gold Coast Bazaar, but a few of the latter were login rewards (Sword Singer's Redoubt, for example) or Event Rewards (Kelesan'ruhn, for example) and those did not come back until the Bazaar opened.

I would love some small-to-medium sized player homes in the cities! I don't know how much effort goes into creating a player home, but I would be fine with re-using existing assets for them for the minimum amount of work possible. For example, in Hew's Bane is an NPC house you can break into called Masbayat's House that I really love the interior of. I would like it if they could take a copy of that interior layout and paste it to be an innroom-style player home, with the entrance at any of the existing currently locked/inaccessible doors in that city.
