Warden DPS is actually in a fairly good spot right now, but it still falls short of being truly competitive in the PvE and PvP meta. I would really like to see Warden given an opportunity—even if it's just for one update—to become one of the top-performing DPS classes and bring something meaningful to optimized group compositions.
I've been playing Warden since its release with Morrowind in 2017, and as a longtime Warden DPS main, I've spent years hoping to see the class become genuinely desirable in endgame PvE compositions. Wardens have certainly had their moments, but dedicated Warden DPS players still have a difficult time justifying their place in optimized groups, particularly when attempting difficult Veteran Hard Mode content.
I think the class needs a combination of **more damage, stronger utility, and more meaningful group benefits**.
The Bear is an iconic part of the Warden identity, so lean into it. Make it stronger or give it some unique utility. Perhaps the Bear could apply a unique status effect, debuff, or group benefit that gives Warden DPS something distinctive to contribute beyond raw damage.
There are plenty of other possibilities as well. Give Wardens better access to Major Brutality/Sorcery outside of Bull Netch. Improve the duration or effectiveness of Scorch/Subterranean Assault. Expand Warden's relationship with Brittle through Winter's Embrace, potentially allowing Frost abilities to provide additional group benefits. Increase the offensive potential of Frost abilities. Increase the damage of Animal Companions abilities. There are a lot of directions you could take it.
The specific solution matters less to me than the overall result: **Warden DPS needs more.**
More damage. More utility. More group synergy. More reasons for an optimized group to look at a Warden DPS and say, *"Yes, we want that in the group."*
I'm not asking for Warden to completely dominate every other class. I would just love to see it legitimately competing near the top of the PvE/PvP meta for once. Players who love Warden DPS shouldn't feel like they're handicapping an optimized group simply because they want to play their favorite class.
I would also love to see another look at weapon skill balance, particularly Dual Wield and Two-Handed abilities. Outside of a few exceptions—Rapid Strikes being the obvious example—many weapon abilities simply don't feel competitive enough to justify using them in serious endgame content. Improving those options would also create significantly more build diversity instead of pushing players toward the same handful of effective skills.
Warden has an incredible class identity: Frost, animals, nature, and the Bear. The foundation is already there. Please let Warden DPS actually capitalize on it.
Give us one update.
**Let the Warden DPS mains eat.**
