I recall Mist Form getting reworked after Blackwood, Frenzy was a little before that, so it's all around a year, and either way both skills are still relevant to this day.Even on PvE Greymoor vampires were super strong for a very long time, it just wasn't something well known or accessible for most players.BardokRedSnow wrote: »Vampire has been op for a long, long time because of the undeath passive. They deserve to get a rework yea and I am sure they will, but one patch iteration of not being meta is honestly a breath of fresh air.
What are you talking about?
Vampire has never been meta.
You have an issue with old Undeath? Great.
Could have easily required a vamp skill slotted instead of being absolutely gutted by people who don’t actually want to play a Vampire.
Frenzy could scale your damage indefinitely and was arguably the strongest skill in the game, Mist would literally make you immortal and have DDs eating mechanics from vet trial bosses, it's no wonder they had to rework and nerf so much of the Vampire kit over time.
Greymoor Vamps were anything but weak.
You say “for a very long time” how many patches exactly? 2-3? Maybe? Out of 40+?
After Dawnbringer exploit, Frenzy was obliterated and only came back around during Blackwood, and specifically Toggle Plar when paired with Thrassian Stranglers.
Once again, very niché, and undefined, as you slotted Vampirism simply for a buff to everything else you were doing, not playing a Vampire.
All of this talk about identity, and the need for these reworks to help establish it, yet they started with one of the classes with the strongest identities of them all, and one that is a direct punishment to anyone using Vampirism.

this is not 10,000 BC bud this is the twilight vampire stuff we try not to bite anyone except those we love who really want it like our girlfriends
Okay. I’m tired. Tired of my favorite spec being absolutely useless in this game outside of a few niché scenarios. I mean very niché.
On top of that; this has been the WORST patch in the history of ESO for Vampire. Everybody is playing a Dragonknight because they do a ridiculous amount of damage… FLAME DAMAGE.
What about Vampires?
Pour one out for us I guess; I can’t even convince my girlfriend to log into the game because her favorite activity, PvP, is completely unplayable for her.
You can’t outskill a roll catch leap from an unblockable fossilize, you can’t react to the Molten Whip slapping for more than 10k each hit, and if you try to build defensive; running mitigation, they’ll just pop Corrosive which now deals FLAME DAMAGE if you somehow miraculously survive the leap combo.
What are we supposed to do? Run 50k health?
Undeath was nerfed patches ago… great. It would have been really useful this patch.
It’s bad enough we have only 2 out of 6 skills with universal use; Eviscerate & Blood Scion. Everything else is just a worse version of something else! Why is the Fighter’s Guild rune just a better version of Mesmerize?
I’m tired of my favorite things in this game, Necromancy, Vampirism, and Conjuration being an abstract joke, and a second thought entirely.
How is it that nobody in the room when proposing Dragonknight first for rework, had asked what about Vampires?

Yeah... I'm not thrilled with what they did to Vampire either. I miss the old Mist Form and wish they would bring it back. I don't care how many people disagree with me, the "rework" on Mist Form sucked. Being able to turn into mist to stave off attacks or retreat was one of the coolest features on any MMORPG I ever played. The new Mist Form is awful.
I like the new Mist much better than the old one. The old version was extremely busted, but at the same time it pretty much locked you out of playing the game. It was pretty much a mag block on steroids. A gimmick at best and pure cheese in the worst cases.
The problem with the new Mist is that it is both too weak and for some reason extremely poorly implemented. I appreciate that it is close to what the Vampires in the Greymoor trailer do, but the ground targeting is so extremely janky sometimes. You can lose range when the ability lags or fails to register, it can trigger double casts that just mess up your magicka, it can teleport you back when you cast it on a lag, etc. It is a desaster. But the idea is superior to the old one.
The old one was much better at weaponizing Strike from the Shadows though, I will give it that. They also shouldn't have cut the heal modifier on Blood Mist so hard during the initial PTS for the new version. It just doesn't scale well if you aren't literally within a ball of harmless enemies. Elusive is certainly also underwhelming compared to other mobility options. Both Morphs could do with a refresh, but most importantly, the cast itself needs improvement or the ground targeting needs to go.
