I don't see why not. I mean, I can maybe see why they wouldn't want to do it for Jewelry Crafting as that's not a profession for everyone yet (in which case why not make Summerset base game tbh), but all of the other base game crafting skills have one, so Alchemy should get one too. I'd love another source of mudcrab chitin. They could even replace Snakeblood. Isn't that passive useless anyways? Are there any useful potions made with negative effects??

Often I can't do daily jewelry crafting because I lack time to farm the materials myself, and jewelry hardly ever drops anyway.

I would also like to see a fishery hireling that sends you basic bait types. Idk how that would work as fishing doesnt have a skill line, but maybe it could be part of a quest line involving fishing, and you unlock a hireling at the end of it. Maybe it could be a physical hireling assistant who everyday has fishing bait to pick up and can fillet the fish too for you, but then that starts to stray a bit too far from a hireling who sends you mail daily.

Yes, since jewellery improving was reworked to be in line with the other crafts there doesn't seem to be any reason for it not to have a hireling now.
Did the Devs ever say why they didn't give an Alchemy hireling?

I suppose there was some point to not having a Jewelry hireling back in the day when Jewelry crafting was a new system, but there isn't much point to it in 2026. Same thing with Alchemy, but I can see the problem with having a Hireling needing to send you a few things every day, but having to do that by picking from ~35 reagents and 18 solvents. That's a wholly different problem from picking between roughly 10 crafting mats each day for the OG crafts. Enchanting kind of works around it (excluding Hakeijo and Indeko essence runes), but "why am I not getting <reagent> from my Hireling?" would be the big headache for Alchemy.

Those are far too easy to come by though. Baits drop from everywhere and they're dirt cheap.

Didn't vote because this isn't a yes/no question for me. I think there's room for some more hirelings, but I'm not sure about every line having them. I'd like one for alchemy, but only if that offered more chances for the items that are NOT in the Alchemy Survey resource node pool - there are some things I really don't need more of!

A fishing hireling/skill line is a tricky one. I think it could work if the hireling was offering the alternate baits to the ones you get from plants and undead. But it's not clear to me if those offer any advantage over the standard ones when actually fishing? I guess it might encourage more people to go fishing in the first place, but there are those who would consider that a disadvantage

I'd definitely like the devs to consider options for more hirelings, though.
