ESO launcher re-downloads the entire game multiple times a year

I have a second PC at my parents' and ESO Launcher always re-downloads the entire game every time I launch it. I use OneDrive to sync AddOns but other than that there's nothing out of ordinary. Considering the internet speed is only 50 Mbps this is a huge issue for me.
Any suggestions are welcome. AI chatbots didn't help at all...
P.S.: Forum search is busted (AGAIN?!) so I cannot search for similar issues which I am sure are many already.

- Downlaoded fresh ESO Launcher Installation.
- Renamed the folder.
- Installed Launcher from scratch.
- Started game installation.
- Paused and exited.
- Copied files over from the older installation.
- Started new launcher.
- Re-downloading everything again.

✭✭✭✭What browser do you use? I use Edge, a quick search using "eso game reinstalls every time I open launcher" gave me loads of results, including a fairly extensive AI response(Co-Pilot I believe).

SpeaksWithSilenceSoul ShrivenThe launcher always shows the full game size when updating, but it's not actually re-downloading everything. I'm certain it's not because if it was it would take hours, like it did the first time I installed, and it doesn't. It's just bad design of the launcher UI.
If you haven't played for months there's probably a bunch of data to install, but it still shouldn't take long. About how long does each update take for you? Is it over an hour?0 -

LootAllTheStuff✭✭✭✭✭Is the previous game install where the installer expects it to be? I've seen another post which implies that the installer doesn't actually check for alternate locations. Also, you mentioned using OneDrive to sync your add-ons: you may want to check that OneDrive hasn't helpfully moved all your game files to the cloud and just left a symlink in the folder's place (which the installer wouldn't recognize/follow).
