TEMPLAR QOL WISHLIST

Despite the current imbalance I am still having fun and finding success with my main, my beloved StamPlar. However there are some pain points. In lieu of a full class rework, here are some QoL wishes I'd like to see for Templar. This is from a PvP perspective.

In-class Major Evasion. My suggestion would be to put it on Solar Barrage

In-class snare/root immunity. I'd like to see it on Cleansing Ritual.

In-class Major Breach. Backlash is a good candidate. Javelin another good option.

Remove the "charge up" requirement for Backlash's bonus damage (adjust TT as needed).

Make the Major Brutality from Jabs last a full 20 seconds (or "while slotted on either bar").

Radiant Destruction: turn one morph into a stamina melee instant-cast ability (adjust TT as needed).

Thank you have a nice day

This wouldn't make Templar anywhere close to godmode. Just some utility that other classes such as Nightblade get to enjoy without going outside of their class.

Aren't you the person who argued that the crystal weapon is overpowered? Look at the auxiliary features; what you're doing is just playing with words.

Accuse me of playing with words while putting words in my mouth. Read that thread again and quote me where I said CW was overpowered. What you perceive as playing with words is really just a lack of understanding on your part (evident from the CW thread as well). Google Dunning-Kruger.

Most of the stuff I listed I already have in my plar build.. I just have to use weapon/guild skills to get them which is a bummer. For me personally none of this would result in an increase in power. It would just increase class identity since I would be using more class skills to achieve the same buff coverage (ex: I'd be getting Major Evasion from Solar Barrage rather than Blade Cloak). For my Backlash and beam suggestions I did say adjust TT's as needed.

Didn't you read exactly what was being requested? Do you simply not want to see it? Anyway, the Warden revamp is scheduled for 2027. If you're patient, you might get these features by 2030.

Exactly. You're too out of your depth to speak intelligibly on the topic.

Let me explain exactly what you want: to free up inventory space for the "scribing" skill alongside these great features. You want to pull off the scribing skill, Ultimate, and Backlash combo—using Rallying Cry, MA, Monomyth, and Balorg while standing on a rune—to kill people with Backlash and Jab, and then teabag them

I don't know, I don't do that on my templar at all nor hold block. That's probably why I think it sucks. But wait, if you stand still and someone comes at you with corrosive you're pretty much wrapped up.

You want to pull off the scribing skill, Ultimate, and Backlash combo—using Rallying Cry, MA, Monomyth, and Balorg while standing on a rune—to kill people with Backlash and Jab, and then teabag them

The build I had someone test on a pure class templar for me had a 64K radiant glory and jabs at 7.2K (not fully buffed, not in a group). That was an all-out glass build. And, while you could jab people to death. To get that power you needed to not be absolute glass, and even then damage to a blocking target (tank) was only around 3k ticks each jab tick.

Ultimate still hit like a wet noodle, though it did kill that DC emperor dude on PC NA in a 1v1 (Im-whatever his name is). Backlash was still a joke and unusable, scribing skill was strong on paper but didn't do what jabbing more couldn't in the same instance, etc.

Now, that was an extreme build that I had a "pro" templar test out since they were capable of running those builds with 9k resistances and not instantly dying even to the emp.

And you know what they said? They said that templar sucked, pure class was trash, and it was too much sacrifice for that power. They also said that radiant, despite its tooltip was absolutely useless in reality. They said a tank build was more useful because templar damage sucked and made little difference in outcome even pushed to the extreme

So when you come and post an inferior build damage-wise, you have to expect that someone will start questioning if its true or not. Just post video of what you are claiming. And again, I keep saying it, but if what you are saying is true -- where are all the offensive templars? I cannot find them.

Beyond that person testing that build for data in Cyro, I seriously doubt anyone has seen many or even one templar build offensively.

The problem with templar is that it simply does not have damage in a pure class scenario. No good ways to stack instances of damage, and thus no good performance in this current direct-damage focused environment.

To alleviate that you need subclassing, because not even the stronger proc sets can reliably bring parity between templar and other classes in the damage department.

And that's precisely why you don't see them. If I go extreme on a DK with the same method I used on that templar, I'm whipping people for over 27-30K -- not even joking. And then there is access to corrosive to ensure it. Class is bad tbh.

Templar needs better parity for magic builds

Both the jabs and sweeps should get the major breach and sundered and the health should be moved to a passive for all skills

Overoading the Templar with named buffs sets and imbalance every class should be getting a damage buff of the majority variety and the minor variety for group play according to what we are seeing being pushed to us but...

No one should have to find a class to join a group to get a bonus equally not every class should have access to all buffs but there has to be balance one class munger penetration and another gets breach essentially they're doing the same thing but one oenetrati9n is only available to the toon it's on and breach is available to any attacking the enemy it's been applied to that when imbalance start to creep in

Hybridisation should be removed and we should go back to the old system of mag/beats Heavy, Stam beats light but then speed and healing ability help stay alive

Mitigation need to go too change it for armour .... Once armour is broken then damage starts taking health you can heal health but armour remain down until your out of combat and it resets

Mitigation is always present it never depletes and that is the biggest imbalance issue PvP has

I feel like I'm the only person alive who doesn't think every class needs to have in-class access to every named buff ever. I have no argument against major evasion besides that.

Cleansing ritual already removes roots and snares,I think an immunity would be a bit much considering its already a really good skill. What's more, templar is all about turtling up so being rooted in theory isn't supposed to be a downside.

I agree, but not on Backlash, slap that on jabs and drop the major brutality.

Not sure how I feel about this one. Honestly it would be pretty neat to pop instantly once you know its at full power, but there's no easy way to tell that. That being said if the devs did implement this that would shake up plar rotations in a way I don't think I'd like.

Maybe as a passive for just slotting sure.

This one I disagree with. I don't think a stamina morph of Jesus beam would ever make any conceptual sense. Radiant Glory is easy enough to sustain on a stamplar, granted templar sustain in general is awful.

I'm with you on the named buffs but imo Evasion makes good sense for a supposed "stand-your-ground" class.

I see where you're coming from on the root immunity but then again DK is meant to stand their ground as well yet they have those amazing wings. Personally I play Templar pretty mobile.

Edit: come to think of it the bubble would be a pretty good candidate for root/snare immunity

Make Backlash just do flat damage instead of having to charge it up. You don't need much more ridiculous buffs. It used to be castable on multiple people. In fact Vengeance has a version that's similar to the old school backlash (but doesn't need charging up), you can put on multiple people, but only 1 templar backlash per person. Can't stack like with multiple sorcerer curses.

well thats pretty boring and not very interactive and could become problematic depending on how damage is calculated, because if you are not pumping out tons of damage to cap POTL you get a weak explosion but if it just deals set damage it might allow tankier specs to do way more damage than they should. its also just kinda lame cuz it just becomes single target curse

You think templar is fun to play as a damage dealer in PvP right now? I'd rather have curse than potl. Simple is better. There's a reason simple classes like DK and sorc and ww are meta, while complex classes are performing poorly.

You know theres a whole other half of the game right? If you'd rather have curse than potl then you can play a sorc or subclass DS. Of all the potential ways to fix plar I think turning it into another class is probably the worst ones.

Have fun being a class thats only good in duels and even then it's not as good in this meta. PoTL is 2x more telegraphed and can be cleansed + mitigated by block/CC the templar/hide behind a pillar so templar can't hit you. PoTL gives sunder but otherwise is mostly inferior curse.
