Do you display other players User ID or Character Name?

I see both. I don't do anything special like addons for it. It's whatever is in the settings.

I also don't have nameplates on.

I prefer User IDs but I also have my addons include the character name in chat and on screen. I wish that the group, friend and roster lists all defaulted to User IDs.

The only way to see both is by using an addon. We can mouse over a player and see both names, but the nameplate over the player's head only displays one or the other.

Oh I get it now. Yeah I don't use nameplates. I'd still favour user ID over character name though either way. Character names tend to be more interesting, but you can't tell who the player is by the character name.

Character Name

Character names, mainly for the immersive factor, but partly because that’s the default setting and I can’t be bothered to change it 😂

Character Name

Character name if I have it toggled on, but most of the time I keep nameplates toggled off completely since I find it more immersive/the less visual clutter the better.

I didn't know the setting was character specific. I use an addon that sets all my settings the same on every character so I didn't realize this.

I never use nameplates. If I had known this poll was specifically about those, I would have chosen Other.

For those that don't show nameplates, I am assuming that the display choice still affects how the player's name shows up in the chat window.
