No it is not. They're both terrible irl but if we are allowing one in game and then banning people for bagging people which is not SA in any way shape or form, how are we not hypocrites? Accusing others of SA for bagging people is even more ludicrous than accusing others of being mass murderers for killing people in the game
albertberku wrote: »@JavaRen You dont just get permabanned instantly. You get two warnings first. Then 72h ban for the third offence. I am at this point now. And from here i assume 4th offence will be another 72h ban. And 5th offence will actually be a permaban. This is my intuition. Basically anything you do on a corpse. Tbagging or using emotes.
JustLovely wrote: »XVestigeXx wrote: »Basically the title. Have you played any game ever that had multiplayer? Then bagging has occurred and its not something worth crying over much less being banned. "Oh no, that player's pixel crouched up and down over my body" is not some sort of assault on your person. There is no reason to ban people for bagging other than being the stereotypical reddit mod. Its more hateful and does far more damage to ban someone's account all because they bagged someone in-game. Alls it does is fuels greater hate, more harm, more targeting, and more toxicity. Get rid of this terrible, poorly thought out, emotion filled and logicless rule out of our game. Bagging is part of video game culture and it will forever be part of ESO whether you ban or not, it just sucks for the people who are blindsided by having years of their game time and monetary investment ripped away all because they bagged someone and that someone complained and reported it.
The people who report others for bagging just want to weaponize this awful rule as a way to hurt others! You are literally enabling a much worse problem! Get rid of it! And reinstate every account banned for bagging!
The problem you're having in this thread is that you're not talking about "people" being banned for t-bagging. You're talking about YOU being banned for t-bagging and you're upset about it. You're trying to say that you should have the right to be as offensive as you decide to be at any given time and you shouldn't be punished for it. That doesn't work. Accept responsibility for your actions and stop being a jerk. Easy.
T-bagging is NOT against the ToS and people aren't banned for it. What people are banned for is for griefing, stalking, harassing and otherwise being a jerk. And ZOS doesn't ban anyone without video evidence. They don't take anyones word for anything, so people banned for t-bagging have a history of obnoxious behavior and probably deserve the involuntary vacation.
This is really simple. Don't be a jerk. Be polite.

Its not about wanting to bag, its that it should not be bannable. Please stop projecting your feelings on us and making it out like there is something heinous behind it. There is not. Its simply competition and zos does not need to be refereeing in a video game
Unfortunately, they do need to referee because of the childish antics of a bunch of manchildren. Or maybe still children, who knows.
I don't care if I get bagged, nor will I ever report for it, but if it bothers others, and they have asked you to stop and you don't, that's ALL on you. Grow up.
Look, its obvious you have a problem with it and don't like it, which I can understand. But being able to report people and ban them is being weaponized by people who themselves do it too. Its weaponized victimhood over something that shouldn't be bannable. I would have no problem not emoting or crouching on someone if they told me they didn't like it and asked if i would please stop. But thats not how people are using it, they are using from the outset with the express intent to ban people as a revenge tactic because their ego was damaged, not because they genuinely found it disturbing. And I don't think bagging is even something that should bother anyone, but if it did, that shouldn't mean all these other bad actors get this weapon to abuse.
Hope that explains my position better and I hope you have a wonderful week:)

Yea, no, just seems like backpeddling and not wanting to be held responsible for childish actions.
Once again, it takes several warnings before a ban. Zos doesn't just ban someone when they report they were teabagged. There needs to be proof that they were asked to stop, and then they look into timestamps. Everything in game is logged, they can look into this stuff.
Stop being childish, and you'll stop being treated like a child. Pretty simple.
Gleaming representation of your community, again.

The people who should be help responsible are the ones who weaponize a non-real victimhood in order to do real harm to others. I have been bagged before and bagged others. I wouldn't want to terminate someone's whole account because I wouldn't want to have that done to me. For the original post it's in the subject line at the end of the subject. It just happens to be invisible for months now because Vanilla hasn't fixed it yet.
This is such a non-answer it wouldn't have changed a thing if it weren't posted. You can't explain why you want to be toxic because that's the simple answer. Doing something repeatedly despite people having told you to stop enough times that you've gotten actioned as you have is toxic/ Like that's end of story, no argument. It is genuine toxic behavior to repeatedly ignore others asking you to stop doing something. You know what would have prevented you from getting actioned? Stopping when you were asked to. You're not going to get a warning, suspension, or ban if you simply go your own way when told to stop.albertberku wrote: »Do you know the train enthusiasts, that just watch, follow and record trains?SilverBride wrote: »I don't understand why.

Because t-bagging in and of itself is NOT a bannable offense. It becomes one when people ask someone to stop and that person doesn't have the maturity to simply accept that and move on with their day. And no, being Offline Mode isn't a viable excuse to hide behind, because that in itself can be used as a shield to try and prevent someone from asking you to stop, and thus try to get around the CoC. If you want to be Offline Mode to prevent hate whispers, that's perfectly fine. Put yourself Online while t-bagging, put yourself Offline again once you've done and moved on.
Again, no one is getting banned outright for t-bagging. You need to keep doing it even after being asked to stop, and even then you don't get banned. You get warnings, you get suspensions. Because essentially when you keep doing something a person has asked you to stop doing, ZOS considers that harassment. And THAT'S why people get warnings and bans. Not because of the t-bagging in and of itself but because of an action that gets escalated to harassment. Other things this also happens with include:
*Stalking: Following a person, even if they port to another Zone or to an open Player House,
*Emotes: Repeated use of things like Mudballs or the one Crow emote idr the name of,
*Targeted killing of specific players: Repeatedly targeting only one player in Cyro (and maybe IC?), afaik this doesn't apply in BGs since it's small-scale PvP, but in open-world PvP repeatedly hunting down and killing a specific player,
*Insults: Even if it doesn't include crude language, threats, slurs, or the like, repeatedly insulting a person or people can count
These are examples of things that count as harassment as well. T-bagging in and of itself isn't harassment initially. It becomes harassment if you keep doing it even after being asked to stop, same as the things above.

Absolutely no one forbids a player to do that with their friends whom they know find it funny too. It's only treated as a TOS breach if a player has stated in chat that they don't want it, but the person still doesn't stop. Continuing to mudball someone if they have said stop is treated exactly the same way. It's not in particular about the exact type of action, the part that's forbidden is bothering a player with behavior they have verbally disagreed with.
what about people who have all communications turned off? Do they just get banned? Should they have to constantly check their email? Its just not worth enforcing the bag rule because it differs from the mudball as well in that it doesn't effect your character at all and is only when you die in game and just means less players on ESO and is contributing to this game dying
And why shouldn't they be included? Why should you be allowed to continue to do behavior a person has asked you directly to stop doing? And please don't say "it's childish to be upset over it", because genuinely wanting to t-bag THAT badly as to not want a punishment for doing it when asked to stop is the childish thing. Teabagging shouldn't be included in that list of things neither should emoting. I understand stalking, purposefully and egregiously hunting down one player like stream sniping makes sense. But not bagging and emoting. I am aiming to have that removed from the CoC as it does the opposite of what the CoC's goal is. You should not be banned for bagging or emoting whether its one time or one hundred times over the course and passage of time and normal play

You shouldn't have all communication turned off if you're going to bag tbh. If you want to go around taunting people, they should be able to ask you to stop or get you right back (within reason).
I agree that it's not SA but at the same time, if you keep targeting someone for things they have asked you to stop doing, then that's not okay. And honestly, there's a lot of harassment that goes on in pretty much any competitive anything from poor sports and sore losers alike. It's a tale as old as time. Like any game, they try to keep things from going too far. And "You can do your little touch down dances but only with like-minded players, if someone asks you to stop, then stop," seems like a reasonable compromise to me.
You'll never make both sides completely happy. That's not how massive competitions work in any place ever. But, keep your comms open and stop when asked isn't a crazy ask and gives a reasonable compromise between the two sides. Trash talk is only beneficial to an environment when it's harmless. Letting people opt out helps with that.
