Open Resource Monitor (resmon.exe) in Windows.
You have to monitor eso64.exe. Res. Monitor should obviously run all the time.
When game freezes, Alt-tab and check resmon.
eso64.exe constantly communicates with megaserver, in my case PC EU even when you idle on log in screen and main (characters) menu which is normal behaviour.I guess you're on PC EU, too as you wrote in German.
When freeze happens, there are ZERO bytes sent/received between eso64.exe and the ESO megaserver.
After some time, sometimes even over a minute, eso64.exe suddenly receives a lot of data, and you get notification from game that action happened. I literally just wait to see data received, and go back to unfrozen game.

Please do this, and report back!

I’ve finally managed to test it, but unfortunately, the display freezes up and then the game crashes. I see the same thing in Task Manager: everything stays within normal ranges—no metrics spike or hit 100% usage—and then, all of a sudden, ESO crashes, and the readings go back to normal as if nothing had happened. I’ve tried several times, but I’m not getting any results or seeing any changes in the values. I even connected a second monitor to watch everything in real time.

It’s really frustrating, especially since there’s no help available on the official site.

I’ve already gone through the support pages and FAQs multiple times.

My subscription runs until August 21, 2026; it’s a shame, but I guess I have no choice but to check back occasionally and hope an update fixes the bug—or wait until I have the money for new hardware.
