Ultimate: hold option to trigger it.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a "hold to trigger" option for launching the ultimate? You can classify it in milliseconds, but something that requires "holding" the left & right bumpers for half a second or so, so when I'm spamming attacks between the bumpers... the ultimate isn't accidentally triggered. Options would be: OFF, xxx milliseconds, yyy milliseconds, zzz milliseconds... depending on how much a delay is desired, to prevent an accidental trigger. Obviously, this probably won't be an issue for PC users, but it IS for console players.

It was suggested I could "remap" my attacks to different buttons, but this would require adjusting SO MANY CHARACTER'S settings... AND getting used to the new layout, versus a delay option added to the Ultimate trigger being instant or delayed (with "OFF" being the default, so people wouldn't wonder why their ultimate isn't firing right away).

If this isn't the proper thread/forum spot for this question... I apologize.

Oh... on a different note... could there be an option that if the controller layout (again, a "console" issue) is changed accidentally (which happened to me, and it took almost a week before I realized why I couldn't swap between my front bar and back bar)... there should be a prompt that asks, "Are you sure you want to change your controller layout?" This screwed me up so bad, that I kept submitting "Help" tickets to fix my back bar, so it would work again. I really couldn't play for almost a week, with my most powerful character... during the "Night Market", because I thought my character had become broken!! :'(

Nearly all Ultimates were changed years ago to have a cast time. You can animation cancel almost all ults to prevent it from going off.
What we NEED is for ZOS to remove the cast times on ultimates

I don't disagree with you there. Just wanted to point out that it is hilarious to me the number of times I've tried to manually cancel an ultimate and it doesn't work versus the number of times I've deliberately gone out of my way to ensure my ult won't be canceled and it just gets swallowed by the void anyway.

Fair. The game itself has some serious bug issues that don't seem to ever get looked at. DPS ults should not have a cast time, whereas Defensive ults absolutely should have the current cast times.
I really don't know how you can "accidentally" use ult, as it requires two buttons to be pressed simultaneously...unless you mean you ult intentionally and try to cancel because of something like target breaking LOS, or streaking out of range, etc...Or the classic "I bar swapped, but ESO said naah you didn't", and you cast the wrong ULT...

Tbh, having a Hold & Press as combined features would be pretty cool. For instance, take a look at the current WW. If you build Fury to full, then you have to activate it, wait 3 secs, and then you can transform back into normal form. If Press was for just Fury alone while Hold was for transformation control (or vice versa for Hold/Press depending on player preferences set on Settings), then it'd give some great QoL for that plus other Ults.

Tbh, we need Ults that have functions for Press & Hold. A single-function Ult is fine, but a double-function (2 different ways to use it depending on Ult & utility of Press & Hold) would be very interesting.

I guess I didn't make it clear enough. First of all, I'm not interested in "canceling" an ultimate when it is INTENTIONALLY triggered. The problem stems from alternating attacks using the LB & RB buttons that accidentally triggers the ultimate. It only takes a millisecond of them both being pressed at the same time. This could occur when you are releasing one button (LB, for example) and hitting the other button (RB), before fully releasing LB. Perhaps I am too fast for the controller to disengage the buttons I am pressing (my controller is in good working order, BTW).

As for the other problem I mentioned... switching between 3rd-person & 1st-person viewing, only requiring a button tap. I did notice there IS an option that requires a "hold" when pressing down on the D-pad. Unfortunately, those options change OTHER button actions which are "clunky". Everyone that I ever asked that plays the game, NEVER uses "1st-person" while in combat: It puts EVERYTHING in your face and doesn't allow you to see the area around you - especially from behind! The ONLY time I use the 1st-person perspective, is when I am editing a house or just looking at something up close. The option to change the view should require holding the D-pad down on EVERY alternate controller layout! There is nothing worse than switching between front bar and back bar in combat, and to accidentally switch the view to first person!!! That has resulted in a death on more than one occasion while in combat (not when dueling, though... as I never waste my time with that).

As I've stated before... it feels like it to me, that the programmers never actually play the game. If they did, they would (or should) see these problems in the game! Either change EVERY controller mapping layout to require holding the D-pad down to switch 1st/3rd person views; add more layouts; or add an option to totally customize controller layouts (including the hold option for various tasks). Clicking down and holding the right thumbstick to highlight/target an enemy is EXTREMELY tedious, as the tendency to end up making your perspective pan away from the enemy you are trying to target is very high! Assigning that to ANY "button" is better than trying to keep your view on a target while pressing down on an analog thumbstick!!!
