Are we still getting the Quakecon Crown sale?

Usually during the start of Quakecon we get a Crown sale and free ESO plus trial. Is that still happening this year?

I've been wondering about this also.

Was going to get one of the big packs for myself and another as a present for a friends birthday,

but there's no way I can afford it at the standard prices.

Here's hoping we get an announcement confirming a Crowns sale soon.

An email just went out about free trade bars for everyone (Reward Code Bethesda40) - and the game is on sale on the website.

Nothing about Crowns though - not yet at least

I planned to maybe double and spend some 150 bucks and load up a massive load of crowns.

I would have been happy. ZOS would have been happy. Or not?
So I am now supposed to spend 125 for half the crowns? Amazing offer.

Hmmm... well, I won't buy anything and nobody is happy.

They probably think ppl buy crowns anyway so more profit...

I think ppl are already reluctant to invest into the game because of what happend and without a sale there will be even less incentive...

I think now would be exactly the moment to ramp up the incentive machine...

I dont know why they dont do more sales. Crowns is free money for them no matter the price and it's my experience that most only buy Crowns during the sales.

I was planning on spending 100€ on crowns during the Quakecon sale, but guess not then.

The new management must be allergic to money or something.

The standard prices are preposterous; no way will I be dropping money without a discount happening.

Guess I'll have to see if we get one during New Life then and just not spend money on the game 'till then.

I'll be holding on to my money sale or no sale until I see proof of life for the future in ESO. Vengeance is the primary reason I've stopped investing in ESO anyway.

This is a weird and bad development. It's worse we're getting no explanation for it. Like many people here, I don't buy crowns unless they're on sale, and I won't even if they stop doing the sales. The prices of crown items have just gone up over time. Was this a Microsoft mandated decision? Or did the guy who always remembered turn on the sales get laid off?

Historically there has been a sale in August coinciding with Quakecon however historically they have never commented on sales until the sale is up, and only to say 'hey the sale is up'.

Therefore we are kinda stuck in limbo about this...

I have bought plenty of crowns every sale since they were made available alas I do not want to purchase them outside of a sale because it signals (IMO) 'hey is fine if you don't do sales anymore, I am going to spend the money anyway...'

EDIT: Just got an email from Beth, they have a sale on and ESO is one of the games included however crowns... they are not.

I've seen multiple threads were players were talking about they store stuff on alts until a free trial of ESO+ for people who complain on too many crafting items.

They stopped doing them it appears.

I have seen multiple people stating they wait for the yearly sale to buy crowns.

Now it seems like they may have stopped that as well.

I'm sensing a pattern here...

Would be a huge let down to not get a crown sale during Quakecon. Definitely strange we don’t seem to be getting one this year. I would think crown sales would bring in a lot of revenue.

The thinking is probably be more revenue in without a sale...

They never think they might just lose revenue without one on occasion.

Typically, there have been three discounted Crown sales a year:

Spring (April) during the Anniversary/Jubilee Event
Summer (August) along with Quakecon promotions
Winter (Late December to Early January) for the New Life Festival

We did have the spring sale. If we don't get another sale before summer's end, perhaps we can look forward to an end-of-year sale in December.

We've been driving down an avenue lined on both sides with red flags all of this year and most of last. This is not a new development. This is just another data point in a long list of data points. We haven't gotten a free ESO+ trial lately either, which we are overdue for. This is a downward spiral with ZOS producing less and less, so as customers we are spending less and less. Only ZOS can turn this around and their biggest obstacle to doing that appears to be their corporate overlords. The conclusion of what's happening isn't obscure or unpredictable. It's obvious what's happening.

I mean honestly, at this point you are better off spending 300 bucks on something cool that is not digital, that will be around as long as you take care of it vs spending money on crowns. I can't express how many times I wanted a cool leather bag or something "medieval" to decorate in the house with but I balk on spending the money. But when crown sales come up money flies out of the wallet. At this point in the juncture I'd rather have those tangible items that I can cherish OFFLINE.

If layoffs had not happened (two years in a row now), if the game had shown old style development with new lands to explore, new features, not the slim offerings we've had since Solstace, then I'd say sure, blow money on crowns. But right now it seems like a foolish way to spend money, unless you are independantly wealthy and can wipe your bum with 100 pound notes.

I have no idea why we don't have a Crown Sale, I'm sure these are always revenue drivers for ZOS and this year, when they clearly want more revenue, they're skipping it?
