What's the point of free swaps if I get the same challenge I just swapped? Is this done on purpose for gold sink? I ran an experiment today and to change all the challenges to completely different I needed 120 000 gold because every time I got the same ones I just swapped. ZOS, is this on purpose?

    Agreed...

This makes no sense. it's like changing the oil in your car, so you drain it then just pour it back in.

    It make not sense.

    RNG gotta RNG.

ZOS only seems capable of learning the hard way (or is actively disinterested in knowing) that failing to put in factors to mitigate the quirks of RNG means those quirks will inevitably occur.

As a Day 1 player, I never saw a BSW fire stick before sticker book, and I still didn't see one until the literal last item in my sticker book for that dungeon. They shouldn't have had to learn the hard way that they had to add curation to mitigate RNG, but they did. They shouldn't need to be told that people who reroll a Tome don't want the same dang Tome. But apparently they do.

It bugs me as well. To add, it also is very annoying to get a rotation that seems to be all pvp centered items when I don't do pvp personally.

Sometimes it benefits us to get a repeat challenge.

I had a challenge to do 10 quests. The entire challenge completes just doing my daily writs. I also had a challenge to do battlegrounds that I wasn't in the mood for so I rerolled and got the 10 quests challenge again.

It did come from a different challenge but was still a repeat of one I had just completed.

If it's an intentional gold sink then they planned ahead for it, because this problem has existed since tomes were first added, and the ability to spend gold on rerolls wasn't added until recently.

It is annoying when it happens. I've often rerolled one, got something else I don't want, rerolled it a 2nd time and it's back to the first one I rejected.

I stopped doing them on purpose. Now when I'm out there I occasionally get a tome notice. I'll wait till I max out on quests and see what I get. I already have too many points and I don't like the way they deal with the leftover points, I lost out on 7 k and got a bunch of stuff I really didn't want or could use like the Archive stuff when I have never set foot in the Archives, the transmutes when I was already maxed out or the totally inappropriate heavy armor for my Templar.

Oh yeah and all the furnishing stuff when I have never furnished a damn thing since I play this game.

I challenge you people to do better on the left over points.

Duplicates aren't the problem. It's when you get something you really, really don't want. For example, a PvP challenge but you don't PvP. So you reroll it and get another you don't want that's also PvP. So you reroll that one, and then you get the PvP one you rerolled in the first place.
